I'm thinking about buying a new computer for mx sim, I was considering buying an Alienware x51 it's $699. I really wanna run decent or high graphics and any track I want with no lag

For that money the configuration is a i3 and gtx745. So sadly no that isn't very good. Prebuilts at this price are lackluster, if you are able to consider a custom build you will get a bit more for your money. Alienware is just hype to charge even more, I would avoid them.

NCIX prebuilds are still, IMO, the best option. Their pricing isn't always the best but the $50 fee to build your parts, test them, and preload OS is one of the best idea's out there.

Do they rape you on shipping tho? That is the worst part about most enthusiast prebuilt systems (meaning built with off the shelf enthusiast components) like Cyberpower. That and they put together the strangest CPU/GPU combos in their builds unless it is $$$.

I personally would rather learn to build than have a prebuild shipped to my house. I'd pay the money for shipping, but I'd be afraid of any damage that may happen. Although, I'm saying this and I already know how to build. If I didn't know how, I'm not entirely sure how I'd feel. Because it took months of watching Linus' build guides before I was comfortable with it

Well I know how to change oil but yet every so often I pay someone to change it in my car. Today I paid $10 for a drive through car wash and vacuum, I know how to do both but didn't want to do it. Somethings I just don't do for convenience sake or lack of interest to do so.

He may or may not know about computers but with the $50 they build, test, and do primary setup of your hard drives (even if you have a HDD/SSD they load it on the SSD and make the HDD the secondary or set up RAID config's with multiple drives) and it puts all items under a 1 year warranty through them that rides along with the actual items warranty (saw it has a 3yr warranty, if in a year something breaks you send it to them and they take care of it, after that you still have 2 years of warranty that is between you and the original manufacturer. This includes any damages during shipping) and for all of that for $50. Its appealing to me even if I know what I'm doing because that is just a walk in the park. Instead of me receiving everything and spending 3 hours checking, building, and managing wires it just shows up and I plug it in.

The only downside to that is NCIX is primarily a Canadian company and with that sometimes they share stock with the US and prices aren't always the lowest. I prefer Amazon or Newegg for prices but they price match with those so its still close enough for the most part.

IDK why someone like Asus doesn't have semi custom computers. Basically pick i3 i5 or i7 and then choose your video card. Boom, would sell a bajillion of them and everything would be right in the world.

I guess I'll rephrase. I would be okay with someone building my computer for me. Kinda takes some fun away, because I loved the task of building mine, but that would be okay. I just would hate to have it shipped. I mean people have had cases, radiators, heat sinks, etc. dented or cracked because of the lack of care from the driver, and those are items that are usually decently light. A whole computer though, especially if you asked for a full or ultra tower, would be super heavy and could see damage from a caring truck driver who just didn't realize how fragile this box really is. If I lived near NCIX, I'd pay for them to build it and call me so I could come pick it up. Until then, I'll just take the risk of damage to one part (which I see as a much smaller risk) and build it myself

I'm sure they pack some material inside the case to keep everything stable before shipping. Otherwise they would have to fix them all the time when they showed up broken.
