New MX Game in the pipe - LCQ Studios?

I've heard conversation coming out of animal pens that is more intelligent than what is going on in here.

looks fairly incredible, I know this might sound stupid, but If it would be possible to some how take the physics from MX Simulator in some way or form, Not ripping JLV's stuff more so replicating it in some way, and having graphics like what you have shown, its would be awesome. but it looks like what every you are doing their could have endless limitations.

I think it could be the next big thing mate!

Awesome work

Thanks a lot man, I really appreciate it. Unfortunately, for some hard core simulation guys this isnt the next game for them. We want to appeal to a wider audience so I am trying to find a mix between arcade style gameplay with some simulation styled elements added in. I want to say somewhere like mxgp2 but with more control of the bike and rider with stability settings and bike setup.
However, the project is dead in the water at the moment. The rest of my team is busy with other things in their life, as am I. Plus they cant really do anything until I get the alpha physics sorted out. For the past two months Ive been grinding out a website for Racer Identity, which is similar to decal works's website. Its required a lot of prototyping and learning new things so its taken up all my time. Im also leaving for college in a week so my gaming PC is just sitting in my living room while I clean and pack up my room, and my macbook doesnt have enough hdd space to pull down the repository.
I wont let this game die though... In a couple of weeks I should be back up and running 100% and hopefully we can get an early access on steam by the end of the year (no promises though.. developers should never promise anything lol).
If anyone has any questions about the game or what we have currently in the pipeline, then I can try to answer them as long as we're not keeping it under wraps.

I understand what you're saying here and won't deny the earnings potential of a more basic/arcade style vs a sim-type mx game that can appeal to a broader audience. For what it's worth, which may not be much, I want to say this - don't forget who your core user will be. It will be awesome to see sales go up because the game doesn't have the barrier to entry that mxs does, but if you sway too far in the arcade direction, I believe it may well work to your detriment (at least until it gets picked up to be on console, nothing could be more acrade-based than the current MXvATV).

Just my $.02.

You obviously know a hell of a lot more than I about what you're doing, and after all it's your project, so I may be way off here - I just feel that this sentiment is what has led some of the major players in the space to lose touch with some (most, at times) of their core audience, which at the end of the day is moto fans who enjoy video games. I certainly wish you the best in development and look forward to trying out whatever the end product is - good luck!

I definitely understand what youre saying. Im trying to find a good balance in between thats never been done before, and maybe it was not so reassuring to compare it to mxgp because honestly I didnt like the physics much. My goal is to create a challenge for players that will take some time to learn but wont have such a big learning curve like in sim. We're wanting to have a racing community like we have here on sim with pro and amateur classes. However, the game will be a little more simpler but not like in mva where you just go out and rail everything. I just need to get a solid base for us to start out with, but obviously over time we'll update and continue to improve the physics. The goal isnt to make money, it's just a project to have fun with and maybe create something that people might enjoy. We're doing something ambitious by adding more features to our game than any other motocross game has ever had. One of those is when you crash you have to run back to your bike after you crash to promote cleaner, more strategic racing. After we get everything we want in, we'll hammer down on the physics before we come up with any new features to add. Of course a lot of people are going to say its shit because it doesnt have relfex physics or sim physics but we're just going to have to see how it goes over with people and improve on what we have.

Sounds great Michael, always cool to see people take a challenge head on. Again, best of luck to you, would love to see a legitimate competitor to mxs that pushes game development forward.
