HOLE SHOT DEVICE
HOLE SHOT DEVICE
Concept:
Been thinking about this for a while now. What if JLV added a second button to be assigned on your controller that is a hole shot button.
How it would work:
1) Every time you start a race your front forks would be automatically compressed
2) With the addition of a new button assigned, you could press you assigned button and your front forks would be released
Why?
This would make start a bit more realistic. Instead of people leaning back at the starts it would encourage people to start to lean forward!

Re: HOLE SHOT DEVICE
I don't think this is the first time it's been brought up. Right now in game, everyone leans forward cause they don't want to loop it/wheelie. A starting device would let us lean back a bit more to get more traction in the rear wheel because our front end would be lower and be harder to wheelie. Holeshot device or not, I don't think it would be much different. Everyone tries to their best ability to get as much traction as they can without wheelying, same would go with a holeshot device.Quinten wrote:

Re: HOLE SHOT DEVICE
Having a button to release the forks would not be realistic at all. It would be more realistic if you had a button assigned to compress the forks before gate drop. But in real life the forks release on their own after the start.

No
Everyone will use it which means it's totally unnecessary.
They should remove it irl too along with launch control. Everyone uses it and all it does is takes away some skill from the rider.

Re: HOLE SHOT DEVICE
No way they should be removed irl. Having a holeshot device doesn't guarantee you a holeshot, it just helps center your gravity and help you come off "leveled out" vs having your weight shifted back. Would be interesting to see something like this. If you don't like it in game, don't use it, but the option would be cool.Rayvenator wrote:No

We should also remove knobbies from tires, since everyone uses those and it only makes things easier!Rayvenator wrote:No

Should be removed irl? thats fucking stupid Your right it doesnt guarantee a holeshot but it raises your chancesGKSracing104 wrote:No way they should be removed irl. Re: HOLE SHOT DEVICE
It doesnt change your chances one bit because everyone is using them. My point is that if everyone is using them, the point is gone. Sure when they were introduced it was experimented with and some used it and some didnt. Now everyone using them and banning them from racing wont make a difference at all, just one less this to go wrong and one less thing to install on your bike.Kenny154 wrote:Should be removed irl? thats fucking stupid Your right it doesnt guarantee a holeshot but it raises your chancesGKSracing104 wrote:No way they should be removed irl. The example with tire knobs what expectionally stupid so I wont even bother answering.
Its also why I agree when they removed traction control and ABS from F1. All it did was remove skill from the driver and made the focus more on the car than the actual driver. When everyone used it, no-one gained an advantage except those with less throttle control.
I agree that technology should go forward but sometimes it goes too far. Holeshot device and traction control on a dirtbike is going too far. There would be no difference if they were removed except moving that throttle control skill from a computer to the actual hand of the rider..
Re: HOLE SHOT DEVICE
In australia tear offs got banned now you can only use roll-offs and the amount of hate they got for just doing that was crazy!(It is a stupid idea that they got rid of tear offs) and thats only australia. So imagine the hate they would get if they got rid of traction controll and hole shot devices shit would hit the fan and not everyone would be happy.Rayvenator wrote:It doesnt change your chances one bit because everyone is using them. Re: HOLE SHOT DEVICE
Firstly, Tear-offs got banned for environmental purposes so thats a whole different question and not applicable in this argument.Kenny154 wrote:

Furthermore, banning tear-offs would be the riders would have less vision when riding, ofc its more annoying. Less vision could also mean more crashes, more injures and so on so thats something completely different.
Whats annoying with not having traction control or holeshot device? People will bitch about if for a month before they realize that it doesnt make a single point of difference in results as its equal for everyone. Its just less shit you need to put on your bike and less shit that could go wrong.

That may be the most stupid thing I have ever heard someone say.Rayvenator wrote:
