Also forgot to mention, but does anyone else just really hate Barcia? Honestly one of the worst 'racers' in this day n age.DCreedz#523 wrote:-

Re: 2017 Supercross Discussion
He did Ray so dirty before over-under, I dont think barcia tried to clean him but he was definitely thinking he was hot shit or something because even Ralph said it was first lap and extremely uncalled for and he normally sounds like he is reading straight off his teleprompter lol
Re: 2017 Supercross Discussion
Reed pushed Dungey outside before going over the over under. Dungey tried to pass him on the inside in that corner before and Reed just grabbed a handful and stayed next to him. Seems like everyone thinks it was clean.Pumaxcs wrote:Granted Reed didn't pull out of the way but why couldn't Dungey just pass him?
I must've missed the heat race or something because I don't recall anything between the two either.
Holding up Dungey in the main was a bit over the top though. Maybe trying to prove a point that if he wanted to he could hold him up? Not sure TBH.
Re: 2017 Supercross Discussion
Why wasnt it clean? Yeah there was contact but its not like reed put dungey on the ground *cough barcia cough* I think dungey more meant of the whoop section where reed went into the inside to prevent dungey from passing him back. I think Dungey was just frustrated that reed has battled and held him up in a few races this year (when reed was on the lead lap).SMR 510RR wrote:Seems like everyone thinks it was clean.

As you can see Reed was WAY off the race pace, while Dungey was putting the consistent fastest laps in lap after lap up until lap 16 (when it happened) and you can see reed drop 2+ seconds off his lap... kinda hard to lap a guy on a track with one main groove in it when they all of a sudden jump up to a race pace..
There two rules that are largely known but unwritten: 1. You don't cross jump and 2. You don't cross over in whoops. Why? Because a rider can not react in a way to avoid dangerous consequences when they are in the air or blitzing the whoops. It's common racing etiquette to ensure everyone leaves the track safe. I would call that clean riding, not following it, I would call it dirty riding.GHarlan wrote:Why wasnt it clean? I would be pissed too if I had the red plate, #1 plate, and a guy I've been lapping on the regular about cleans my front wheel out for some heat race glory. And look... still got lapped.

Re: 2017 Supercross Discussion
I am included in everyone. I was saying that there doesn't really seem to be anyone who doesn't think it was clean. I don't recall the whoop incident so I can't comment on that.GHarlan wrote:Why wasnt it clean? Exactly what I was thinking!!Ktmrdr11 wrote:even Ralph said it was first lap and extremely uncalled for and he normally sounds like he is reading straight off his teleprompter lol

It just seems to me that the only way Barcia makes a pass on the guy infront is if he either cleans them out/goes in way hot and aggressive, OR they make a mistake.
And Mason, thanks for that stat, I really just have no idea what Reed was thinking in that main to be honest.
In the heat, crossing over in the whoops was probably not the smartest move, especially for someone like Chad. Surely he's been around long enough to understand NOT to do that. And if you remember back to that great battle between Chad and James Stewart in 2009, Reed said the only reason he was so pissed of at James was because James cross-jumped him. -.-
But that move before the over bridge, I thought was totally fine. Matter of fact, those incidents were kinda similar. Dungey made the move and then tried to block the line just like Chad did in the whoops. Little bit different circumstances but you get what I mean. I really don't know why everyone's crying about that. It's simple; Dungey made a move for the lead in a heat race, Reed passed him back and that's it? I'm sure Chad could've run him off the track if he wanted to, but Dungey wasn't even pushed that wide.

The AMA needs to amend the rule to make it more clear cut. Honestly, shocked Reed wasn't black flagged.

Re: 2017 Supercross Discussion
Why? He wasn't cutting over, cutting Dungey off, and trying to wreck him. He was holding his line. AMA is black-flag happy with Reed, so he wasn't going slow enough to impede Dungey according to the AMA director. On The Pipe wrote:The AMA needs to amend the rule to make it more clear cut. If you are defending Reed for staying in front of Dungey for 3 laps, something is wrong with you.

Re: 2017 Supercross Discussion
The rule is written poorly as it contradicts itself. Hold line and don't do anything erratically, yet move out of the fast line when safe. What if the track is one lined? However it says do not impede the progress of the race. Look at lap times posted above. Dungey should of grew a pair and punted reed in a corner for being whiny old man. Reed has always been a crybaby looking for revenge (eye for an eye guy). Reed thinks he's above the rules being an old vet racer and he knows Dungey wouldn't try to take him out. Reed is notorious for pulling this crap out of spite.DBRider251 wrote:Why? He wasn't cutting over, cutting Dungey off, and trying to wreck him. He was holding his line. Yet another tally for race issues handled poorly by AMA what number are we up to now like 35?
Re: 2017 Supercross Discussion
Lappers have gotten in the way pretty bad before, but typically they are trying to move. Everyone in the main event (for the exception of the consistent 15th-22nd riders) can run the same speed, give or take. Reed can run a fast enough pace to keep Dungey behind him, but if Dungey passed him he would have gapped him pretty fast. Chad knew Ryan was there, it's not like he didn't see the blue bar. Clearly by the heat race, Reed was fired up and probably "felt it" Saturday night. I'm not sure what happened, but clearly it wasn't "his night" when the main event came around. In the heat he showed he could run the speed of Dungey for a few laps, and despite running 16th it wasn't like he didn't know how to ride a dirt bike. He had plenty of opportunities to let Ryan bye quickly, but chose not to and rode a pretty wide bike. All it would have taken was checking up where he eventually let him bye and would have caught the next guy when they let Ryan past them. I think that Reed was upset with Ryan for who knows what reason and purposely blocked him to get in his head, Chad is a Monster athlete and would probably prefer to see Eli win over Ryan at this point, so who knows what his real motivations were. Regardless of motivations or reasons, there is absolutely no reason why Chad should have raced Ryan that hard, especially being in 16th and out of a title hunt, and he should either be warned or penalized for what he did. I know there's people saying "If Ryan was faster he should have passed him", well there's three reasons why this doesn't make much sense. Number one, go back and read the second sentence^, and number two, Reed should have gotten out of the way, period. Number three, Ryan isn't going to risk his title because he has to go for an overly aggressive pass on a lapper and potentially crash and lose even more valuable points.

Listen to the announcer (in the stadium), "Reed just looked over his shoulder", he 100% knew it was Dungey. Just thought I'd post that too
