2017 Outdoor Discussion

I've heard conversation coming out of animal pens that is more intelligent than what is going on in here.

I thought it was savatgys dad calling him one for riding around
Have to go back and re-watch that lol. See if that can be figured out.

I think you guys are looking into Savatgy's riding at Vegas all wrong. Why use all that energy to win the race when your teammate is winning and both your title contenders are behind you and have been on the ground? Granted, he wasn't even close to the front, but I do t see why he should be expected to give it his all when that would normally just be a waste of energy. Anyone but Osborne, and Savatgy would've been champ, but with Osborne being the one he had to stay ahead of and beat for the title, no way. I'd still doubt he could've made it happen before the facy, but he's the only one that could've done it

So to go win a title you should go roll around? fuck no. Joey should have given it his 110% until the final lap and he didn't but Osborne did and he was rewarded with a title.

That is true. But, when both of your title contenders have hit the ground, and you've got the ground already, why risk it? All Savatgy had to do (in his mind) was finish, but if he pushed the issue, he may not have. In the end, it bit him, but I see absolutely nothing wrong with it

Didn't Cooper Webb go down in the 1st turn last year and had to make up a few spots to just edge out Savatgy?

Not sure if he went down or not but he raced with a broken wrist in Las Vegas to bring home the points he needed to take the championship

My top 3's...

450
Tomac
Dungey
Grant

250
J Martin
Austin Forkner
AC

I know. The Grant prediction is a bold one... I just think he looks fast coming into this year. I also know that there is a very large chance my top 3's are way off

My 250 picks are really a little bit of a guess. The field is going to be so stacked this season for 250 its not even funny. trying to predict anything for that class is hard

Dont underestimate Ferrandis outdoors.

He didnt grow up racing supercross the way americans do and he still did great this season.

If he stays healthy I´d say he´s a title contender.

I mean, Forkner did wonderful his very first year in MX, so why not put him ahead of guys he beat last year?

Because the guys he beat this year are way better prepared. Look at mcelrath for instance, last year he wasn't very good and this year he put himself in position to win the title. AP Has also gotten a lot faster and so has Osborne (proving it by winning the championship)

I just don't think you can compare a guy's supercoss season so easily with his outdoor season. It's just a completely different style of racing. Which is why I hesitate to put some of the top guys in sx on my list. I mean look at Jeremy Martin. Has won championships in outdoors, but sucks ass at supercross (compared to the rest of the 250 field that is).

Well I feel like if your good in supercross you would be in motocross. Osborne and Savatgy were good last year in outdoors and supercross last year and so was webb. So I personally feel like all the top SX guys will be good in MX

You have a good point. They SHOULD do well in motocross lol. But that tends to not be the case a lot of the time unfortunately. The truth is we won't really know until it begins! I honestly don't think you can even really make a solid pick for the championship until round 2.
