I was always fascinated by the idea of 3D scanning a track into this game, but I though that the equipment required and the skills needed are way to much for me.
After some research, all that didn't look so intimidating anymore.
If anyone is interested, I made a quick Video on how i did it
I tried to explain every step, but I am sure I missed something so let me know...

The track in it self is pretty simple, so i gave the AI a chance.
They are still 20 seconds slower compared to a fast lap, but i guess thats fine
I got inspired by one of the stock tracks in the game.
I hope it is still fun, even though it is so simple.

Very cool to see a video on this. I have seen meshroom and always wondered if it was possible to get that detail into a hightmap. I guess it was. Looks sick though dude!

killer layout man. could use a little more roughness to fit the abandoned track vibe.
