You haven't played MX Sim in a while I guess. It will automatically restart if those kids haven't passed a gate in a while. It really screws up my transfer sessions.
That's nice to hear! Ye, you are right, I lost interest a while back.

I still play both. I juggle a lot of games.

Do the late joiners tend to cause trouble? I always figured that since they're going to be way behind they have no incentive to do anything but get in the way.

2020 and MXS still doesn't have displacement mapping/decal drop/(masking layers- MXB) for ground textures

Would help erode visibility and rut formation

Early 2019 sent jlv a few messages asking for it

jlv wrote: Sat Dec 05, 2020 1:12 am Nah. I just need to be more productive. Good products market themselves.

Going to have an update soon that ties up some loose ends in the track scripts along with probably the dumbest mod ever. After that I'm going to start doing some major overhauls in the rendering system.
Circling back on this, I came with genuine intent to this thread but a smug reply warrants a smug follow up - MX Bikes is easily taking minimum 75% of the new moto gamer crowd. Adam Cianciarulo tweeted whether he should start playing MX Bikes or Sim, and he went with bikes based on the replies. So, the “good products market themselves” philosophy is clearly tired, and only worked when you had the simulator lane monopolized. A marketer would be in AC’s DMs with a cash spiff and free copy of the game, but you’re a developer who doesn’t believe in it when a marketer offers his thoughts.

Love everything you’ve done to develop this amazing game JLV, but you have done absolutely zero to show young mx gamers looking for a simulator why you still have the best product. I tried to start a conversation to creatively market this game in modern ways. It’s clear you are a developer and not a marketer, which is evident in how this is playing out and opportunities are being missed. The golden years of sim will never be forgotten tho, and Kellen’s streams are genuinely the only thing bringing any new players at this point. Again, I’m not a hater, came here with genuine concern 4 years ago and was told marketing is a waste. I was dismissed and it’s sad to see bikes take over. I hope I’m wrong in the next 4 years.

It's so serious that you have to pit in and rejoin the track in order to load the player skin instead of the placeholder neutral skin.
What does it matter Havoc? There’s no marketing effort to inform new players that Mx sim can run 40+ man gates and bikes cant. Not even a simple video or paid influencer. I’m sure most would pick sim over this simple point, but how are they supposed to know if AC and all the streaming influencers are telling kids bikes is better cause it’s easy to pick up and has good graphics? I just have to chuckle about how spot on my first post was and how it has played out since.. this community doesn’t tolerate genuine critique coming from the heart. Dinosaurs.

Is that really true? MX Bikes can't do a 40 rider gate?

I am almost positive it does, but in my experience once you get to around 25-30 riders there is so much server lag the game is unplayable. It's been a while since I've raced in Bikes so I don't know for sure if that's still the case.
