Yeah we get it the physics are great but lets be real..
Not doing anything is exactly why the player base and the game itself is consistently falling off and is nearing the end.
No, the real reason the game is slowly dying is the toxicity of the community killed every decent content creator doing it for the love of the game and only left the people trying to make a buck, creating a soul-less competitive shell only good for filling the hole of the ego-centrists dreams.
The only fun is winning

The updates we get are completely lackluster, we have been asking for simple shit to be added to the game for over a decade and it is all completely ignored or overlooked.. Why have a "suggestion box" on the forum when none of the suggestions are even considered to be added into the game?
He's overhauling lighting as we speak and "just" completely reworked the terrain for bigger and better tracks.

People have been asking for better bike sounds for over 10 years, we have been asking for better first person and third person camera settings for years, the rider falloff needs to be adjusted, we want new bike dynos, there is still absolutely nothing being done to mitigate people from ripping and stealing hard work from others and the list goes on and on.
1) Bike sounds are moddable so not his priority
2) We have gotten camera improvements over the years, just not everything everyone wants
3) You won't like hearing this but Fall-off is too lenient and a lot of our small crashes that don't make sense usually stems from our concrete traction, something the community willed into existence
4) He has explained why he hasn't added newer dynos due to how dynos function in the first place and the fact that his source no longer operates/discloses results
5) Quite a bit has gone into the prevention of ripping and JLV heavily moderates the forums when his attention is brought to it, just because a shit ton of 3rd party backdoors exist isn't his responsibility, it's the community's as a whole

I understand JLV is a busy guy but it feels like he has been busy for the last 10 years that I've had this game. At some point you need to bring in a part time developer so that the game can continue to progress. I would imagine that there are people within this very community that know coding/scripting that would gladly work alongside JLV if given the opportunity.
It has always been to my understanding from everything I've seen and heard from my 15+ years of being here: JLV is a part-time developer of his passion project/protest against MVA and always had been, and this game doesn't make him more money than his real job so it will never be the top priority of his life.
However saying that, he did express recently of thinking of grabbing a modeler to finish the bike update that's been in the works for like 10 years lol

The sportsmanship and etiquette in this game is nonexistent unlike any other simulator racing game and JLV does absolutely nothing about it.
There are too many kids where their only goal is to continuously wreck as many people as possible on a daily basis. i.e., I can go in 01 and punt 30 people every race and as long as I don't cut the track nothing will happen. sorry but that's fucking retarded. This game is not enjoyable to play casually anymore because of this.
We as a community used to police each other and for many years we had excellent tight racing even with the shittier lag-composition allowing you to boot someone literally 500ft, the public servers were packed and if a random dickhead disrupted the peace, we bullied him until he left. As a community.
But also, we liked to have fun. Real ones remember to never sit near the stadium after an 03 race (now 04)

The toxicity and bullshit we are forced to deal with casually, competitively and creatively has completely ruined this game.
Eventually, no matter how dedicated you are to this game..
Content creators will get tired of their shit being stolen, sold and ripped until it drives them away like it has many times before.
The average players are going to have enough of the bullshit, toxicity and lack of updates until it drives them away from the game too.
More or less accurate, but I've always been under the belief that money and ego within the community killed MXS a long time ago, it just hasn't died yet. And the fact that we have had waves of creators leave and the community always spits more greats out is a testament to the core of MXS: You can change everything, so make it your own. Except the physics, but you don't need to since no one has matched it in nearly 20 years. MXB is close but it took 10 years of development and community support to even get it there. And that community was built off the backs of old-head MXS creators even in it's conception.
Essentially, everyone hating on JLV should take a look in the mirror and ask what good you've done for this community (bitching instead of learning or acknowledging ones own faults is the furthest thing from help btw).
It wasn't JLV, or Checkerz, or Kellen, or RF that killed MXS by not doing enough, because they themselves didn't make MXS what it was. It was us. This game is only dead when the community is dead.
