I have an idea for this. Take it with a grain of salt, but what do you guys think about instead of doing the top 40 fastest lap times doing say for example. Do a 3 minute + 1 lap qualifier (You could do 3-8 minutes like they are already set up + the lap) and then take each riders lowest total race ...

The edinfo file just is your gradient coordinates and points on the gradient. It should have no effect on the actual track's heightmap if I'm not mistaken. If I'm correct, the people who have downloaded your track should still be seeing the track fine.
