Re: Graphics at 0 fps still low?

The last snapshot (2022-11-03 and 2022-11-24) is not optimized yet. I posted it for people who wanted to get started on 4k tracks which are unplayable on older versions. It has an uneven frame rate since it draws too much of the terrain texture at once. It'll be more incremental in future updates. (...

Re: Running MXSIM on Mac

No specs attached ;) Since it updated everything to OpenGL 3.0 as minimum, it just wouldn't work on Mac, not to what I could figure out. If you stick to an older snapshot/version it should play fine with Wineskin, but not with the latest updates. If you want me to point you at what works (if a slig...

Re: Export Script for Blender 2.80

Did they break the export scripts again? I don't understand why they have to continuously change the mesh API.

Re: number 41, Nicolas Orlando

I don't actually ban for run of the mill dirty riding if he's actually going around the track. If he's not following the track and taking people out I'll ban him, although he should automatically ghost out if he's not advancing around the track.

Re: 2022-11-03 snapshot (updated 2022-11-24)

sorry for double post, I also am noticing that the terrain is rendering differently, and it appears that terrain is rendering blurry until I am basically on top of it. I haven't changed any settings so I'm not sure why the terrain is appearing differently as well. Use higher resolution for the terr...

Fixed some bugs. Didn't think it deserved a new post so I just added it to this one.

Re: Declining Erode

Could you achieve a similar affect by just having a cap for erode height/depth? Say erode hits the max depth and cant get deeper but the rut shape/angle could still change. idk just spitballin' You can already set depth limits. I don't think it works that well though. I guess I might have to add an...

Re: game stuck/ locked at 125 fps

I should probably make it interpolate over 128 Hz. I've mentioned the possibility before and the reaction has generally been "no" because of the additional 8ms of latency it'd add.

Re: Check Points

Preferably like a 5a and 5b, then 6a and 6b where if you go through 5a you have to go through 6a and not 6b. That way people can't cut stuff like the daytona split they have every year. I wonder if that would always be the preferred behavior. It's tough to account for everything since the rules for...

Broderbund or Sierra On-Line would be waaay out of my reach. It'd have to be something dead and buried for 30 years. Something like Imagic or Mastertronic.

Re: Check Points

How about the ability to make duplicates of timing gates. What I mean is being able to make, lets say 2 #5 timing gates. That way, if you cross either one of them, your lap will continue without cuts. Then you don't have to make huge wide timing gates for things like split sections. Yeah, I do need...

Re: Front Brake cancels my Throttle?

For some reason Microsoft combines the trigger axes into one axis in DirectInput which causes the problem you describe. The newer MX Simulator snapshots support XInput in addition to DirectInput so it shouldn't be a problem if you're running a snapshot less than a year old. Not sure why the new cont...

Re: Check Points

There are technical reasons that would make online teleporting a bad idea.

I do like the idea of being able to rewind when spectating. It'd be super useful for replays during race coverage.

I told you it would be pert-near impossible. Next we'll get origin stories of some janitor from the death star, or worse MCU! I held so much regard for Microprose! Gaming goodness galore. I wore out my Grand Prix Circuit floppy disks since they had the first good elevation change I found in a race ...

Re: Making tracks/series

Can anyone please made like a grand pix series or an enduro series. A Grand Prix series is like NGPC or an enduro series of enduro cross or something 8😎 It'll be way more doable now that 4k terrain is possible. Before, for big tracks you really needed to fold the track up to fit in the available te...
