Re: P2sta getting noticed!
So where was the render? Seriously, took me four watches to realise the background wasn't moving and I'm still not convinced it's not just a video of a bike being pulled on a trolley. Nice work.

Re: Directed at Jlv.
I was just advising how I keep it still fun after all these years, but then I have a lot of patience as I'm used to being useless at most games. I don't watch or participate in any online racing so I'm not certain, but I imagine the quick players are a lot more consistent than I can manage which sug...

Re: Directed at Jlv.
I'm in a similar position really, but I just put it down to me sucking at video games. One thing I do to keep the enjoyment is just focus on a few tracks and you get a better feel for how the bike reacts to that traction. I do think a lot of the issues are somehow linked to traction, try riding MXSI...

http://glovepie.org/ Lets you emulate a game controller, using a huge range of input devices....can even control it with you mic if you want. If it's still the same as it used to be, you have to install ppjoy drivers which may be an issue on windows 7 as they were unsigned drivers and you had to boo...

Re: MXS Twitter
Well you guys in the US even refuse to even use standard shoe sizes! Yup, adding some random multiplication factor onto every formula sure as hell makes BoE calcs much quicker and easier to perform. And working in 64ths of an inch is so convenient; so convenient that you use thou (mil) or tenths.......

Re: MXS Twitter
I'm trying to do some calcs right now based on flow rates, water velocities and pipe sizing and fuck me its weird. So I have an output of 0.52l/s (litres per second) And this is like nothing, its a trickle, something you would have for a faucet in a house. I have to transport this water 800m so thi...

They actually bother to give out scores down to 139? I generally refuse to associate myself with anybody who rocks less than 150.onefoureight wrote:Post your IQ below.

How can I argue with hard evidence like that?jlv wrote: An accurate depiction of a cow
From this day forward I shall refer to µ as 'moo', just as the extra-terrestrial overlords....I mean erm, Ancient Egyptians willed it to be.

Re: Tire model improvements
I'm pretty sure the Greek letter μ originates from the Egyptian glyph for a cow, hence the slight resemblance of the character to a cow's head and the "moo" spelling and pronunciation. Ahh you have misunderstood, the ancient Egyptians were famed for their appreciation for cats, so the pronunciation...

Re: Tire model improvements
I'm not sure enough maths is done on this forum to make it at all worth it. Alt-0181 saves worrying about mu though. If I'd not seen it written as mu I'd probably write it as 'mew' since that's closer to how I pronounce it...but maybe I'm just strange. [quote= 'jlv']I suspect that longitudinal/later...

Re: Tire model improvements
Forum suggestion: Add Latex support. How would you go about empirically obtaining a value for μ when the tyre is angled and sliding laterally? Surely the lateral dynamic friction will have some dependency on the velocity of the wheel in the longitudinal direction, as a spinning tyre will have a tend...
