Hi i followed the tutorial and its all setup but when i type the 127.0.0.1 into the multiplayer it says server doesnt match client version, is this something to do with the 1.8 version not working on my laptop again ? or is it fixable ?

the 1.7 installed fine and i can run the game on that, is there any reason why when i try to join a server that isnt an elsinore it says contacting server repeatedly, is this because it is a private server and you need an invite or something ?
