Finally a Setup that Works
After weeks of testing and total frustration I finally found a setup that feels realistic and not like I'm riding a unicycle on ice. It makes a world of difference. Don't get me wrong, I still suck but at least I can keep it on two wheels and it feels a real bike.
Now it definitely feels like a simulator. Keep up the great work JLV.

only one to win something real from the game!

Re: Finally a Setup that Works
I'm new to the board and the game as well and still struggle with the demo but love the realistic feel of the game so i ordered the disc version last night. I can't wait to get it. Josh is really cool and seems to want to make THE ultimate MX sim. Just for that i applaud him and he gets my support and funds. Thanks Josh.
But I would appreciate it if you could post me your settings you came up with or PM them as I definetly am struggling. The thing that seems odd to me is the constant tipping over. When i ride my YZ in real life if i slow down i balance myself with my feet thus to not fall over. Not sure why that doesnt happen in the game. Or maybe I'm missing something. I'm an admitted noob her.

Re: Finally a Setup that Works
Nice man! Very close to what I got. Check mine in my "New to MXS" thread. I am still working it, especially with the new spring rate, fork oil, and preload adjustments. Game is waaaaay more fun once it is setup right.

Re: Finally a Setup that Works
good set up like how the front end is nice and light and also its stability through the air, takes flat and uphill bumps well but struggles on downhill sections.

Re: Finally a Setup that Works
I am still having a problem with front end washing. Even when going slow through turns and using throttle control.

I just tried that setup... and now i cant even turn... in corners or anything... can anyone recommend me to a GOOD! setup thats more like a MX (Motocross/Outdoors) track setup for a bike...mdasher79 wrote:stability=35.000000

Re: Finally a Setup that Works
might wanna read the thread on 'bike setup,' and there's advise in FAQ.
You should put your stability on 35 or 30 and then don't touch anything.
Then bring it down to 20.
Eventually, when you get good, you'll probably be somewhere between 0 and 10.
I also started out trying to make my own setup similar to what you guys are suggesting, but might as well abandon ship on that setup that has 80 roll damping. It won't work at all in supercross.

Re: Finally a Setup that Works
Oh no! Im like 20-25 stability for like last 9 months.
I wonder how many quiters are using 0-10 stability online while Im left finishing the race alone.

Re: Finally a Setup that Works
Thats a pretty good setup, i really like how it handles turning. the only problem i can find is it struggles with the whoops a bit.
