About the Game and necessary hardware

Post by Stormz »

So I downloaded the demo and have been playing it for the last few days. Got ready to buy the game then realized it's $42. So I have a few questions.

1) Is it truly worth the money? Because I'm not impressed with the demo at all (sorry dev crew). The videos that i've seen from it look really good though, so that leads me to believe it has a lot more potential as the full version.

2) What hardware (ex. Joystick/game pad) would you consider the best? Currently I'm using the key board, but when i get back home (on a business trip) I will be playing with a 360 controller.

3) How does it compare to Mx vs. ATV REV? I downloaded that game too and haven't had time to play it due to the cd being at home.

Thanks guys!

well, the full game is allot funner then the demo,

For example: better tracks, better looking motorcycles, you can build your own track, create your own graphics , good community and I do not regret the purchase of the game

Not to mention constant updates and race series. It's worth alot more than $42 look at COD was like $89 now theyre making you pay for DLC where half of it is reused.

I don't play CoD on PC so I don't know, but it never hurts to help the MX gaming community :D so I will be joining the community come Saturday.

P.S. Does anyone play MCM 2 anymore? I love that game

If you are just looking for a game that will be easy to learn and arcade like that you can just sit back and play without any real skill, then this isn't the game for you. If you just want to hold it WFO all the time while riding, then this isn't the game for you.

If, on the other hand, you prefer more realistic physics, having to brake for corners, having to exercise throttle control then MX Simulator is what you need.

You also have to factor in the constant updates. Once you buy the game, you can update it free. Most other games you have to wait for the new version to come out, then pay full price again.

Yes, this game has its flaws, but I know that in time as the flaws are fixed, this game will become THE motocross game.

I bought this game just a couple months ago and I have shelved MX ATV in favor of this, just because it is challenging and there is a large sense of accomplishment as you are learning.

I suggest you factor in the cost of a large piece of plexiglass to put in front of your monitor. Or just budget for a new one.

The game is a bit frustrating at first. You'll throw your controller at your monitor, guarenteed.

i never threw anything while playing this game. except for some fairly nasty words in rapid succession.

anyway, look I look at it like this.

$42, 9 months ago.
been playing this game at least an hour a day on average (probably more).
42/9*30 = 15,5 cents an hour. (and it goes down every time I play)
99% of the games i have played over all my gaming years have not been this cheap. i think only mxatv unleashed beats this.

Its def worth it man! This WILL keep you entertained forever, cus there isnt a point where you cant go faster..Games like MVA reflex are REALLY fun, for the first few hours :? Then they get boring, cus you can do everything, it gets too easy.
And I'd recommend using a 360 controller, most people do it. Its only 42, not that much, but still im sure you wont get disappointed! I hope you'll buy it, and, welcome to the community!

Does mx vs atv unleashed beat this game?

Ive never played the pc version, was it a lot different then the console version?
Anyways I dont see the mxvsatv franchise being better than this game.
I been in many fights with my girl over this game and I just bought it I think in march. Just like jp said if you want to hold it wide open and not worry about the elevation changes, and washing out your front tire, then this game is not for you. But this game is the most rewarding game I have played. Its funnny I get so excited when I make it around a track without crashing. Dude if your bored with all the other games on the market get this one, you know what even if your not bored with the other games get this anyway.

If you like realism, then MvA is not better. If you like more of an arcade playing style, then yes MvA is better. If you love MXS I doubt you will like MvA much.

I prefer realistic games over arcade games. MvA was a huge disappointment for me due to the repetitive feel. So, at the moment, I'm downloading MXS. I turned 'arcade physics' off last night in the demo and just about threw my controller through my screen lol! HOW DO YOU ALL PLAY LIKE THAT!?!

Lots and lots of practice. Everyone felt the same as you when we first played it, but after a while you get better and better. I think I can speak on behalf of everyone here when I say that it is VERY rewarding when you finally do get faster, much more so than any other game I've played.
