Are these Specs OK?
Hey guys, just ordered a computer and I'm wondering if I'll be able to run everything to the MAX in MXsim. Here's the specs:
AMD FX-8100 eight-core processor [2.8GHz, 8MB L2/8MB L3 Cache]
8GB DDR3-1333MHz SDRAM
2GB DDR3 NVIDIA GeForce GT 530
Thanks for any info. that can be provided...

That's awesome. I've always been jealous of some the pics I've seen. Can't wait to try this out.

remember that mxsim uses only 1core. i had a 2cored e8500 but 3 months ago i went with the 2500k 4core and i got 5fps more. was it worth it? hell no, i had to buy the cpu + motherbord + 8gb ram for 450€. and i could gotten the HD 7950 for the same price. buy a HD 7950 graphics card. i'm gonna do it and then i'll max the game.

and btw you don't need more than 4gb of ram, but it's good to have 8gb for the future. But everything over 8gb is overkill if you only play games

That's the truth I only use my extra ram for multitasking with skinning and track making. I tend to run alot at once. But most people have killer sets with a shit harddrive im looking at buying a solid state drive so I use my components potential.

SSDs arent necessary...they are expensive for the amount of storage you get compared to magnetic discs. the best setup is to get an SSD to run your OS on, and regular old magnetic discs for all your storage/programs.
personally, my box with a 1TB drive is just fine for me. would an SSD load faster? yea, probably. but these things are so fast as they are that the extra money wasnt worth it for me.

i bought an ssd one week ago. i was one of the best things i'v bought to my rig. it was an Corsair force 3 120gb.
it was 158€ so yeah it was expensive, but imo worth it
