It's hosted on your computer, so it doesn't matter where you are. There still must be something blocking it, you just have a router right?

Hi guys, I'm trying to create my own server but have problems to connect. Putting my lan adress it works, but not with the wan.
In game, trying to connect I have "sending client info"to infinite, and in the console I have this line :
AF_INET 192.168.1.254:57502 Sending session 3fc45314 to slot 1 (password)

192.168.1.254 is my router. the port is a random port wich change every time I tried.
Did I have to open UDP and TCP 19800 ports ? Because at the moment there is a knew bug with the Bbox, we can't open the same port for UDP and TCP so I just opened UDP 19800 port.

The lan address will be the only one that works if you're trying to connect from the same PC the server is running on. You should only have to do UDP.

Hi i followed the tutorial and its all setup but when i type the 127.0.0.1 into the multiplayer it says server doesnt match client version, is this something to do with the 1.8 version not working on my laptop again ? or is it fixable ?

Are you sure you have the server build that's in the first post? If you have 1.8 and the server that's linked in the first post you shouldn't have any version match problems.
