Everyone saying its too hard for steam is wrong.

Everyone saying the keys wouldnt work is wrong. Plently games have keys. theres thousands of indie games, and they thrive. He can still have his demo playable through steam, the same key system. etc.

I dont see why jlv WOULDNT want his game on steam.

Can anyone here code or know anyone that has knowledge for creating applications? It would be sick if we had our own little one like MCM2 did with MSN and the Zone. Game lobbies and chat lobbies seperate, friends, idk if anyone remembers but I think that'd be bad ass. I havent used a more convenient way to game since then. No dealing with steam, and their hunky application.. Food for thought

Not if we [the community] update some information and create a better environment for new players. People ask questions because the information is either confusing or hard to find. Why search when you can just ask? This is the first game I have ever played where I had to personally change things in the target line to access features. It's confusing for some people and it's the communities job to help them understand the game and its features.

really the altho i wud love to see it on there, i feel the game is missing way too much before that could happen.
No real single-player mode
No kit selection viewer so people dont have to load the game just to see the kit.
No bike graphic viewer.
The ai only works on 5 out of 1000000 tracks.
hopefully these issues will eventually be addressed, its ok for us hardcore fans that learn it all but terrible for the casual gamer who would look at this and think no way

you people don't seem to understand, Steam or not, people are not going to buy a $45 indie game that has Simulator on it without knowing its going to be a challenge. and if people are dumb enough to buy a SIMULATOR were they don't want to take the time to learn, then that's their fault, not JLV's

You must have never seen the "FAQ READ BEFORE POSTING" topic stickied at the top of the forum. Better yet, you probably have never seen the tutorial forum both in the track editing and models and skins sections. Or there is good old way of the search bar, if that fails theres always google. Amazing what information you can find if you just put a little effort in, unfortunately most dont.

I have read the FAQ, I have even posted tutorials in the tutorials thread. But the search bar sucks. Google often works better.

This is exactly my point! New users should not have to dig for this information! It should be out in the open and EASY to understand, most of it is not. The problem is everyone here has become accustomed to digging for stuff. But if the community took some time to CLEAN this place up and welcome new members this place could be really great. There is nothing wrong with someone asking a question, no matter how dumb it may seem to the elite of this forum.

Agreed on so many features that jlv should be prioritizing that would only make his pockets deeper. And agreed we could use some more ease of access. All of those only help JLV and help build this community. Just upgrading the main site page (not talking any shit) but so it doesn't look like it was made by someone who just learned HTML and java. Anything to make this game appeal to more users will help in the long run.

Same with more consistent updates. I know people ask for new snapshots. Or 1.9 and jlv will say he's working on new features. Aren't snapshots supposed to test new things before a title update (1.9) is released. So why not release a snapshot with scrambled files, or the new server updates, and let people try to crack it. If they don't fail or have bugs THEN you include them in title updates. I feel like if josh gets back into small snapshots, and periodic title updates. It will help keep people around and draw in more fans. Snapshots are like little "betas" that may have bugs, and that's the point. But we haven't gotten anything in a while. Not saying josh isn't doing a good job but there can be minor improvements, (snapshots when things are completed in between title updates, ease of access, appeal to consumers, and the like).

I just want to see MXS grow.

Ok Valve the company that built steam is gearing its platform more back toward indie type games. Greenlight has made some games which you never would know about possible! Valve embraces the mod community more than any other company! With workshop it just adds another level. where skins, tracks, setups, models and such auto installs when you subscribe to it! That alone would clear up so much crap on how to do this and add that! Steam community would embrace this game and with steam updates, game updates, and a extremely large community!
Must of there titles that Valve produce are mods built by the community! That alone shows how Valve embraces the independent games, modders, community that follow.
I think you should just submit to greenlight and see what happens! Make sure you be honest with the game and how difficult it is! That wont matter people how love racing will put the effort in.
The thing that frustrates me is that you need this to do that! download all this other stuff and install it hope it works. Also no hate just my take, people are asses on helping each other out! I am glad you are uber elite and fast but stop being a cunt! No matter what everybody is a noob at some point! Cunty people suck!!

Add MXS to greenlight I think it will be accepted and embraced!

You mentioned EVE earlier in the thread. Before they added it, CCP took a lot of the difficulty out of it, changed the UI, and other things. It's not what it used to be. Still hard, but nothing like the old EVE, which is more fun to me.

Also, I know that keys work with steam because dirt 2 and 3 have them. Idk if it'd be the same exact system JLV uses, but it'd be close.

I'm not a huge fan of having it on steam, but it is JlV's game and he should do what he feels best. I think advertisement of some sort is crucial for continued success. The community does a great job with the flooding of YouTube for people to see. Maybe a FB advertisement campaign or something?
