yea im using ur setup with the new one on a 250f and it feels great, and also dade is using it too!ShackAttack12 wrote:I haven't had much time to test the latest snap, but i will say the setup that i posted for the 9-21 snap still seems to work well even though theres twice as much high speed damping. People can start with that and maybe drop 10-15% off the high speed dampers and it should be a good base.

I found the source of the false track modified bug. It was from loading the edinfo file. Thanks to everyone who helped.
I tried to duplicate what the adjusters on the Fox shock do. The low speed adjusters add/subtract the same force at all speeds and the high speed scales the force according to speed. It isn't really like the clickers though since the adjustable range is way higher.checkerz wrote:And this brings up another question. Are we turning the compression/rebound adjuster or changing valving stacks? Are all of the stacks at the same curve?

0, test it, go to playback and look at the difference

Its rebound and compression dampening. We know what rebound and compression are and dampening is used to slow them down, more dampening = slower less dampening = faster.

Is the dampening of the shock position sensitive as well as speed sensitive?
Re: 2015-09-21 snapshot
I've been doing some playing, and I think it is definitely possible to get a setup that works.
A couple of things that would really make tuning easier as well as help understanding of what is going on would be:
- Data overlay - if we could get an overlay option when watching a demo showing the forces on the forks/shock at each frame or even a graph showing the forces overlayed on the track
- Tuning app - just a graph with the options available so in real time you can see the effects on the curve by changing each value that we have accessible to us for compression/rebound.
Overall, I feel like the rebound damping especially on the shock is way faster than we'd ever use at the lower levels. I think this is partially as a result of our tracks being larger in the way bumps/jumps are built in size and spacing and the fact we don't have subtle bumps very often.

Data overlay and the graphing of the options are good ideas, and something i've been asked for for a while.checkerz wrote:I've been doing some playing, and I think it is definitely possible to get a setup that works.

JLV, how about a "Lock to Side" camera option for viewing purposes? Right now I have to use the analog stick to maintain a sideways view of the bike while watching a demo. A locked, directly sideways view of the bike would be perfect for suspension tuning. Watching my demo's is really how i adjust the suspension.

Do you guys usually use a higher spring rate than compared to what you would use in real life? or generally the same

Re: 2015-09-21 snapshot
I feel like I'm beating my head against the wall with this snapshot. Probably logged 30-40 hours since Friday on hang town 2015 just tinkering with suspension and watching replays. Can't get it to work good throughout the whole track. If I get it good in one section, it's bottoming out and deflecting in another. Seems like the shock likes to ride low in the stroke with this update. I also feel like the transfer of weight is more noticeable in this update? I.e. Forks compress more under braking, shock compress more with a lot of throttle. Maybe it's just me though

I was experiencing the weight transfer last night, went down to a low preload on shock and helped that a ton.MixinGas535 wrote:I feel like I'm beating my head against the wall with this snapshot. Would be nice to have a sticky thread, suspension specific, starting from the beginning with basic definitions and working up to some of the info that is now in this thread. Lots of info in here that is eventually going to get buried.

How low are you running? I have been running between 30-45checkerz wrote:I was experiencing the weight transfer last night, went down to a low preload on shock and helped that a ton.MixinGas535 wrote:I feel like I'm beating my head against the wall with this snapshot. Right now it is at 2. I haven't pushed it up to see how high I can take it without getting the rocking back.MixinGas535 wrote:How low are you running?
