It should work on debian. It's built for 32 bits so if you're running a 64 bit OS you'll need the 32 bit libs.

You might have to open outgoing UDP port 19799.

Having a weird issue with my server. If I'm not connected to it first, others get the contacting server error. Once I'm connected they can join fine. After that if I disconnect others can still join afterwards (was tested while at least one other was still active in the server though). Any thoughts?

Can you tell us more about your server ? Where is it hosted, at home, on a dedicated, ..? Do you use simple ip address + port, or canonical, or something like hamachi ?

I'd guess it's something your software firewall is doing. Your router wouldn't know about your initial connection since it never leaves your PC, so it's probably not the forwarding rule. It might help to explicitly open UDP 19800 in Windows firewall instead of just allowing mxserver through.

Didn't realize I never replied to this, I'll have to try it again since the first time it didn't work but I rushed it.

server,serverrate <bytes per second>
Sets the server's outgoing byte rate in bytes per second.
