Please help me get faster
Please help me get faster
I've attached a demo for x1b.
That is about as good as it get for me (1:08.3) - I see guys pulling times WAY faster than that consistently.
So - I'm asking you to please watch the demo, and see if you can spot where I'm loosing time. My guess would be corner speed - but I can't seem to push faster??
I use a keyboard, have stability on 33, suspension, gearing stock

Re: Please help me get faster
just keep up your practice! ive been playing this game for a good year or so and I am running the same time as you on x1b. A little tip, i didnt watch ur demo, but sit down through your turns. You can have a much lower stability if u sit down. I am running my stability at 0 right now...

Re: Please help me get faster
Thank you both for the help - will see if I can improve my times.
Iceman - thanks, I do sit in most turns, will see if lowering my stability can help
Kawasakis - I can see you do carry much more corner speed & get in the gas sooner. I also saw you make a tonne of small adjustments the whole time - will try give that a go also.
Thanks for sharing.

Re: Please help me get faster
man at least you guys can get around the track with out fallen i think i just cant ride with a keyboard lol i bin play for like about a year now and im just no good with a keybaord soo i guess ima grab me a 360 controller and see if ti help haha
Re: Please help me get faster
walston410 - I madde the exact same reasoning for myself - either - you cannot get faster than this with a keyboard, or that is the limit of the 2 stroke.
Sadly - Kawasakis proved me wrong on both.
Let me just say - I still haven't beaten my time by more than 3 tenths.

One word!! PRACTICE!!!!!!!
Re: Please help me get faster
Yeah yeah - everyone always says "Practice" and it is true.
I just want to know if there are any techniques I can "practice"
Gary Semics doesn't just tell his students "practice"

Re: Please help me get faster
One thing to realize is that getting faster isn't something that happens linearly. When you're getting used to things at first, you get a lot better very fast. As you approach upper levels of skill, things start to happen more gradually. When you're pulling 1:08s at X1B, squeezing out an extra second is going to come down to hours and hours of practice. It's easy to be frustrated when it doesn't look like you're making progress. In reality, you probably are getting faster, but it's just happening a lot more slowly than you've come to expect.
To accelerate the process, I guess I could only recommend watching other guys' demos and examining exactly what they do. Their lines, brake points, gear shifts, body position, etc. Also, when Gary Semics is training his students, he's not exactly working at the "get-one-second-faster-on-this-specific-track" level.

Thanks Jetz.
Yeah - getting the demos is really helping me.
For some reason, I did 1 lap against your demo and got me a 1:07.7 - personal best.
It's true what you say, getting faster is happening slower 4 sure.

Re: Please help me get faster
Yeah, I stopped playing MXS for almost four months (because of my video card) and when I tried getting back into it. Oh man, it was mayhem. Then, after two hours or so, I was back to my previous lap times, I was amazed!
