elite series 2

started getting drag in my regular x controller will a series 2 elite work so i don’t have to take my hands off to shift?

Elite Series 2 does work, it's the controller I use. I use it wired though so not sure about wireless.

Bluetooth works well. Not sure you'd want to run wireless in a competitive race, though. I sometimes drop connection, however, I think that's more due to my computer's antenna placement.
