I find it a little funny that people tell me to grow up. I accepted the fact that my style of track design is not welcome. I was working on a track (realistic) and started to scale it up because it was boring to me, I pop back in to see that most didnt like the Style of the track so I decided to stop making tracks here and develop for another game. I announced that Im stopping because I thought letting people know that Im no longer making would be the right thing: Some knew about the Sunshine track. Now I think Ive been really patient with the "grow Up" comments, But really. its starting to nerve me. I took the criticism with grain of salt, and decided to back out and apply my style elsewhere, How does this make me immature?Klutch wrote:poidog808 wrote:Ive been told to many times that "The Test Facility" is no a welcome change to MXS (UNREALISTIC) so Ive decided to go back to MVA. Thanks for those that did support me. But if Im going to put a lot of effort into something, Im going to do it for a game that the community will be happy to play it. Thanks again. And before anyone states why dont I make more realistic tracks...well, its not fun for me.
Wow...Just wow, grow up. If you're an artist, you're not going to catch everyone's fancy and you will be criticized in the early parts of your career until you buff out whatever they pointed out. Maybe you think you're not cut out for it, but I think you really managed to create something nice if some of the top players are spinning laps around it.
It was fun while it lasted.

You're quitting track making because you received criticism, besides I think we have enough realistic tracks, I think we could use some big ones.

If this thread was not made for attention seeking purposes please enlighten me why...
For the record, I'd love for you to stay and make tracks...the more the merrier.
- 1) You felt the need to tell the community you were leaving, when a lot of us (me) don't even know who you are
2) You say you are leaving, but have been checking this thread, and replying to everyone, if you are leaving, in the sense that it is permanent enough for you to make a thread about it, then why stick around to see peoples reactions when you are "supposedly" not seeking attention...

Re: It was fun while it lasted.
Im having a hard time getting that...Im quitting, track making. Not the game, I love the game, and will probably still make tracks for myself. But my style is not welcome here...its a sim, I get it. Seems everyone is reading into this post what they want. Im truly confused. I dont care about what people said to me...its what they said about the the style! Its my style, me, mine, not MXS, so why would I waste my time making tracks for a community that doesn't want it? Man this is harder to explain than I thought.Klutch wrote:poidog808 wrote: How does this make me immature?

Simple version I make circles, MXS is a Square...sure my circle will fit within the square, but its not a square. And People like the square...I dont want to make squares. so I dont make circles for the square.
And I made this announcement because some knew I was already in the works of another track. Thought I was being nice to let them know.
Im done here, Hopefully at some point you guys will read beyond the first post.

I don't get it... I understand you don't want to make tracks if no one likes them, but have you not read half of the posts in this thread of people saying they liked your track?

Re: It was fun while it lasted.
It's a fun track, you can make a higher-scaled track and try to make the environment realistic to make up for it...
If you were making an outdoor at 1:1, try 1.5:1 or something. Probably a lot better scale if you want things bigger.
Also, keep in mind that a good portion of the community has been involved for a year or more, so learning curves aren't really taken into consideration with the making of most tracks all that much.

Poidog, I'm gonna be bugging you with questions about the editor soon. I hope you continue to make tracks- even if they are just for you. I enjoy them, heck even if its just a couple of us from MvA screwing around making crazy stuff these cats dont wanna play on, I say its worth it.
As long as you enjoy making them, that to me is the key. With as much stuff as you (and myself) have going on, its hard to sit down and make something that you don't enjoy doing.

My opinion
The track was over-scaled yes. But this game, 2 kindas of tracks succeed. Fun tracks & realistic tracks. This one fits into the first catagory.
As a matter of fact, after seeing what you did here, i tryed making a track myself. So if nothing else, you inspired me.

I really enjoyed the track, your right. Its not a typical mx sim track, but thats what makes it fun. It mixes it up a bit, i think you should continue making tracks, people are right this community is very honest, if they dont like a track they will tell you. Im not sure what mva forums are like but by the sounds of it they dont give you CONSTRUCTIVE critism. If your going to let a few people tell you they dont like it and then quite, jones and jeff are right. Your pretty pathetic

It is not immature for you to decide to leave, or to not make anymore tracks, or do anything you want, but it is kinda immature to make a post telling us all about what you are "going" to do, then stick around to see everyone's reactions. I've never gotten why people feel the need to "announce" that they are leaving. Just leave if thats what you want.

Boy if your ready to quit on your first track release because of critism.I say run far far away..
Making tracks is themost critisized thing you can do for MXS .Take it from me.You have to have a strong mind .
Now I just make tracks because thats what I love to do .

Not to mention Motoboss comes from Mva Unleashed, so he caught extra hell about that. Believe me, if he can adjust to making tracks for mxs from coming from MVA ( one of the top creators ) anyone can.

Your a real good bloke poidog, a real good bloke. If that is what is best for you, and making mva tracks is fun, I support that!!poidog808 wrote:Ive been told to many times that "The Test Facility" is no a welcome change to MXS (UNREALISTIC) so Ive decided to go back to MVA. I dont like those people either, they always seem to reckon something is wrong with you, or yourr creation. They take you and your stuff for granted and be smartass.... I get people saying stuff to me like : WELCOME TO THE FORUMS!! ... nah, more like ''join the clan darling, free candy right inside this truck''. Good on you for 'taking action' i guess, as wierd as it sounds...
I am a little dissapointed, your test facility is still my favourite track. You have great potential. I am happy for you to do this. PS. Could you please send me a link or point me to your profile/track site or whatever it is.. for mva I am very interested to see what you have made there too..

Re: It was fun while it lasted.
Don't give up what you love doing.
The fact that you like making more enjoyable easy going tracks that cater to the newer players is actually great your first track was very good, since ive started playing this game ive seen some very shit tracks and skins be made and your track was NOT shit at all it was very good for a first attempt. You can only get better as you make more theres plenty of track makers that make realistic tracks and to be honest we need someone like you in this community who thinks a little different.
Not only that but your one of the few who has a wide following on Youtube so being a part of MXS and posting videos of gameplay etc... helps bring more people to MXS so even if you do decide to give up with track making keep playing the game atleast and keep making tutorial videos for the new players and progression videos its what i like to see as im still trying to get more consistent at the game myself.
I've learnt very quickly to ignore some of the childish comments people leave on this forum and enjoy whats on offer, i hope you can do the same.
