Re: 2009-11-23 snapshot
Sorry for douple post, but the track thing that says how mutch it uses texture memory mb?
i got like 160mb first time in dj track, then 170mb then 188.mb. then i moved to my track (witch isnt even finished, and i got rating of 600mb,
then i try wincott got 300+ mb, then tryed shadows demo with 40 riders, it was over 1400+ mb!
Is that a problem that some tracks has more space or what ever that mean?
or is it mayby possible that the track lags more if the texture memory of it is bigger?
Cuz my track isnt even finished (not at ALL) but still gives bigger memory space than the finished ones (even contest)

Youd be using the blank track with all the billboards and objects wouldnt you? Well, all of those objects load different textures, which adds up to alot of texture usage. I'm assuming you have your model texture detail set to 10? Makes sense that Shadows 40 rider demo uses alot of texture memory, every rider, helmet and bike loads a different skin, which are usually 2048x2048, 1024x512 and 2048x1024 pixel images respectively. This will add up to a huge texture memory usage.
Not exactly sure why the texture memory usage would grow if you are reloading the same track

Re: 2009-11-23 snapshot
Good day Gents,
First of all this is a great enhancment on this Snapshot. But i noticed an Issue when i run the MX.exe without my Nvidia Settings the Framebufferobjects and the Shader Programs are detected and then it uses around 748mb to ~900mb memory that is what it at least says in the top left corner and i got real bad stutters. When I use the Nvida Profil i got all up to max even in the Profil and it doesn´t detect both the shader Programs neither the Framebuffer and i run around 145mb memory so what am I doing wrong or what does it at least mean that it is not using this does it make any difference at all? And If so how can I fix it that it gets playable for me?
Thanks for the answeres in Advance
Kind Regards
Sonnette

sry for double Post. Basicly I sorted the issue a bit more specific. The game gets nearly unplayable when i activate the Framebuffer thing as a matter of fact DJ´s sand track will enhance to around 748 to 900mb with this on and is nearly at 2 FPS so unplayable with it off i receive around 145mb mem usage and stable 60+ FPS so. Here is my Question what does the Framebuffer do and why is it not working for me any Ideas?

Love the new menu's. great update.
I especially love the new way of selecting bike and gear etc.
some little things that I thought could be changed.
- The previous/next buttons don't dissapear when there is no previous or next page.
- The slider bars looked a little confusing to me at first, maybe make it more obvious that it is a slider.
- For beginning players I think it would be better to show the range of the sliders again.
- I also thought the menu was a bit bright in some spots, maybe use a softer white instead of plain white for letters and sliders.
other than that, great step forward.

Whats your ground texture resolution set to? If its at 512x512 or 10-24x1024, it will default to 256x256 if framebuffer objects isnt on. So when you turn it on, the textures will be rendered at this resolution, and will take up alot of texture memorySonnette wrote:sry for double Post. Basicly I sorted the issue a bit more specific. Yes I use 1024x1024 and everything cranked up but as a matter of fact i use 3x8800GTX cards and still got 2 FPS out of it that made me curious. And what does this Framebuffer thing really do is it an real difference to run it on or is it same as i would use the max setting without?
Kind Regards
