3rd person POV question

Post by poidog808 »

Not a critical request, but I was wondering if there was a way to move the camera view up/down for 3rd POV. I can get as close as I want but need to shift the camera up/down to get "the view" Im looking for. Please let me know if this is possible or not

thanks

During racing... for me, the default angle is too low, I would like to be closer to the rider but when I push in I only see the ground, and I cant figure out a way to adjust the angle up for 3rd POV

To be honest , I am really not sure as for the racing aspect, but you can adjust it in Playback, but you have to pan away from the rider to be able to scoll up or down.

yeah indeed it is an update i really wish since a long time to be able to rise a bit the view in 3rd person, cause when we get a closer 3rd person view, we cannot see in uphill where we go?? i imagine if it can be done in playback mode, maybe it can be done easily in playing mode..?? just a thought but i don t know???

Hopefully it will happen I asked JLV if there was any chance to have 3rd person view with an off to the side camera angle. But he said he didn't think that would work. I don't know maybe that angle isn't possible for this game, but Im sure up and down angles could work.

There's the --chase-center command line option (try --chase-center 0,5,0) but that only changes the center, not the angle. I'll add adjustable chase elevation and distance in a future version.

Glad to hear this, I wrote him about this issue a while back but it didn't sound like he was going to do it. Thanks JLV! Big bikes and camera angle changes will be a dream come true

WHOA! Just tried this and it jacks the camera way up. The whole time you're riding the camera is pivoting all over the place LOL. Me no likey :(

Going to try this? Mikey was trying to convince me to ride 3rd person (tbh it's way easier to line up for ruts and ride in rough, follow through in ruts more) but the camera is too high imo. If it was angled down lower I think it'd be perfect (and I don't think I would wash the front out as much in 3rd).

I don't want to switch from first, but in first it's hard to figure out where I am in rough sections (as far as what line you're in/aiming for).
