This game has a steep learning curve.

You can expect a fair amount of frustration until you get the hang of it. It's really fun once you "get it".

In the mean time, turn your stability up or turn on arcade physics.

I use an analog controller - never tried keyboard.

You probably want your stability at 85 or 90, at least.

I would find this game almost impossible on anything other than my xbox 360 wired controller. Try it, it helps. I still can't do a clean 5 lap race, but I have come to accept that.

The keyboard allows for two values: 0 or 100. Now compare that to an (analog) controller, which for sake of arguement, has the full range of values 0 to 100. Controller wins.

Yes you can use a xbox controller - wireless REQUIRES you purchase a $20 pc receiver (Bestbuy has them in stores), otherwise a wired controller can be plugged in usb.

(I would consider that stability setting you put down, 20, as an expert level setting. Are you expert yet?)

Everything you need for settings can be searched here for stability settings, adding 12/3/08 update for rider lean, and controller configs too. The place is littered with this info.

Ive been playing this game for like..4 months I think..And I think 20 stability is way too low ..=/ I just crash, and I use a keyboard too.
Turn up the stability, you might not be able to whip that good, but you'll probably do way faster laps anywa :P

the key to being fast with a keyboard is to just tap the shit out of the keys, dont solidly press them, after a while you pick up a sense of how frequently you need to tap and "counter tap" and so forth, you have to be real light on the controls rather than the brute force approach of mva

Make sure you mapped your buttons in the controller config menu on mx simulator, you will have to put what buttons do what in order for the controller to work.
