I use both on the same and with antilock. Ive tried on separate buttons and on normal and have alot of trouble that way personally. I think its completely rider/controller preference, I dont think it actually makes a real difference.

I use both on the same trigger for main braking. But then I have a separate button just for the rear brake.

How? Just copy and paste in config with a different button? Figured you could do this but never tried.

If you have them on separate that means you can control them separately depending on your need. For example, I usually lock my rear brake in mid air to control my bike, wouldn't been possible otherwise ;) I'm all for it, and if you're new, it's better to start with it and learn it from the start, it's a hell and try to re-learn controllers.

Look up the program Xpadder. It allows you to assign your controller buttons to keyboard inputs. So say you set your front brake to the F key, set the rear brake to R in the game options. Open up XPadder and assign what button you want to be both brakes to both the F and R keys. Then assign a separate controller button to just the R key for your rear only.

XPadder is also nice because I have the d-pad set up as the arrow keys and start as ESC so you can navigate the menu with your controller alone. Nice not having to reach for the keyboard just to request restart or switch bikes/gear/tracks.
