New steam controller good for mxs?

I need a new controller, that steam controller caught my attention, I want it but I don't know if it will work with mxs or not.

I probably wouldnt be very good due to the touch pads acting as a mouse and not a thumb stick. There is that weird thumb stick at the bottom but I dont think its very ergonomic.

I read that you can make the touch pads work as a thumb stick. I'm still not convinced though, idk how it would work out.

Even if that was the case Im not sure if I personally would get it. They layout looks weird. Id rather just stick with my 360 controller.

ive been playing Playstation games since i was.. fuck, 11 years old maybe.. 20 years, so ive always been very fond of the Ps controller.
I love my ps4 controller with sim...

If I'm not mistaken, you have to download additional software when you play with a ps4 controller. On the other hang, a wired xbox controller does the trick
