Update The Website

Post by Dank_Vapours »

Josh, seriously, mxsimulator.com 's screenshots and videos are ridiculously out of date. We know the game is awesome, but new potential buyers might be turned off by the crappy looking bikes (and tracks to some extent). new pics/vids would be nice thats all... plenty of guys can provide them i guess.

It takes more than just putting in a fresh new website..

it would be false advertisement if josh were to advertise with the skins, bike and tracks made by the community. Since it's not in the full version of the game that people pay for.
I don't know if this can be circumvented by adding some kind of disclaimer though.

You also have to keep in ming. He nor us have the rights ( technically ) to the model names, yamaha,Honda, Suzuki etc. + all the replicated skins. I am not sure if that would be an issue in why he has not updated it.

I don't think it would be false advertisement since it is real game footage after all. It certainly wouldn't be any worse than games that advertise cut scenes as if they were actual gameplay. The main reason I stick with completely stock footage is that I don't want anyone to be disappointed with the stock game or feel like they were misled.

The video definitely needs an update though. Not sure when I'll get around to it.

I think you could advertise all these amazing skins and bikes. You'd just have to tell people how to download them and that they aren't in the game to begin with. It sure was difficult for me to try to figure out how to put skins and bikes on. Good thing we have this community!

Just say something like, additonal downloads needed for certain bikes, tracks etc...
But if people buy it looking at rubbish graphics, when they see the new bikes they will be amazed.

You could do a video with it in a section called "downloadable content" or something aswell as you're stock video's. Just have 2 sections or something..

Wasn't there a video at one point (I forgot who made it) called "Welcome to MX Simulator"?
A video like that should suffice in telling people what you get when you buy and also what can be downloaded through the community.
