Gate pick

Post by Jester#132 »

yeah yeah I know you can pick gate's already, but I have no clue how, and I'm sure over half of the people don't know how either, or bother to do it, cause it's not really 'in your face'.
So what I think would be nice, before the race you get an overview of the start line up and you can pick a gate in order of qualifying times, make it mandatory so you cant 'miss' it..
this would add an extra element to the game I think, for big events especially, for normal races it might be annoying, so maybe just make it for the 02 server.

Yeah pretty good idea. Like put a screen up where you'd have to pick up a gate just before the start (similar to the 'Start race' -screen). Timeout could be after 10seconds so if you didn't choose a gate it would randomly pick you a one. Also it would update and show which gates are already picked etc.

I wonder if jlv has thought about automatizating (sp? :D) the race events? Like when its race time you tell the server that event is starting, telling how many heats there is and how many goes to main per heat and how many from the lcq. "server, start_event 2 6 3" would be 2 heats from where 6 goes to the main straight and 3 from the lcq. The start event command would lock the server and randomize the people in the server to the heats. Then you would start the heats by special command like "server, restart heat 1" or "server, restart lcq". It would automatically put people in correct heats and after those check whose in lcq and finally set up the main event. This way it could also make the gate picks happen in correct order.

I don't really know is it worth all that trouble to do, but I thought I'd share my thoughts

I think it sounds like a good idea, but I'm afraid that this will be a bit complicated... just my opinion.. i think we could get something like the Reflex gate pick

There should be anything for online series races!

like the hoster forceplay the riders in order how they finished in heat or qualifing times or whatever and in this order every1 has maybe 10sec time to choose a gate!

something like this would be easy and cool for racing and maybe would fix the start crashes a lil bit :)

man my english sucks... kinda hard to explain in good words, lol
