Post by Jr Dirt Doctor#489 »

I think if you could set something up to where everybodys on stock everything so it would reduce lag.

I think a lot of people still confuse low frame rate with lag.

Obviously i don't know how jlv has set it up but I doubt that using custom skins increases lag. since it's just a couple of simple cariables when someone joins a server.

The thing you think is lag is actually your computer not being able to keep up with all the skins everyone is using. You can turn down your graphics to get a better frame rate. so the problem isn't that people use the skins but that you have your settings set too high.

Lag = high ping and your connection to the server being bad.
Low frame rate = your computer can't handle the graphics settings.

A good indicator of lag is that you yourself can ride smoothly but everyone around you is stuttering, if that happens just ask in the chat if people see you stuttering. if they do then you have lag. (information has trouble getting from the server to you and vice versa)
If your own screen is stuttering and is very jerky it is probably a low frame rate issue and you should lower your graphics settings.
