Re: new engine
Trevor, if I were you I'd start with a simple overhead view 2d racing game just to learn the basics. I just tried to find a good tutorial for you and couldn't come up with anything good. Everything tries to start out with ridiculous stuff that a novice won't even care about. It was easier when I was a kid starting out with BASIC. Almost makes me want to write a game programming tutorial myself.

Re: new engine
Wow that is amazing... I will try cry it looks alright for a crash sim. but i am doing a little 2d minecrafty thing so it will have you build blocks and im going to throw in some wepons to be like metal slug. Thanks barringtonbarrington314 wrote:http://youtu.be/KppTmsNFneg

Re: new engine
ODE wouldn't be good for beginners. For a beginner, the physics code is likely to be something like "x = x + xvelocity * timestep". No libraries needed for that.Phathry25 wrote:My guess, ODE, for anything physics related...
You'd think someone would have made a game programming tutorial using Javascript and a canvas element. You'd see results immediately without even leaving your web browser.

I know enough to were I am not really a beginner but not a novice i am in the middle.... JLV you would be a pro i think..... you must just kick back and say damn i made this game.... then you see the ban court lol

in this one they talk about real time clothing... how badass would it be to have our jerseys and pants moving in the wind.
