Steam Greenlight

Steam Greenlight = More people + More money

If MXS was to be put on steam greenlight the community would grow immensely and this would cause to new stuff to be created, and if JLV collaborated with other people in the community to update the stock bikes and tracks it would make the game much more appealing to new people. I think this would also be a benefit to our existing player base because I enjoy having all my games on steam and I think others do as well. I figure copyright could present a large issue, but I feel there would have to be a way around that? I just thought I would make this post to see what the community thinks about putting MXS on greenlight.

If the sole purpose of the game was "More people + more money", I'm sure JLV would have already put it there. I like how this community is relatively tight and people are connected. If it'd grow to a way bigger amount, you'd loose that.

One of the reasons why JLV isn't just putting other peoples bike and tracks in the "stock version" of the game is at least for 2 reasons. One of them is copyright, the other one is that the game has a system recommendation/minimum requirement that the game currently follows. He can't advertise something and then include parts of the game that doesn't follow those specs.

The greenlight topic has been discussed here as well.

I understand that its not just about more money and more people, but I feel that it would be good for the game for the community to grow. I appreciate your opinion Wahlamt and I can understand the copyright issues, but I feel that the people in the community want to keep this game to themselves and that's perfectly fine. I just wonder if its in the games best interest.

It's not the people inthe community who have copyright issues with jlv using their models? It's the manufacturers who would have issues. Game developers need liscenses to incorporate replica bikes into games, which is something jlv has mentioned he doesn't want to get involved with. For the meantime I don't see anything changing about the stock game and how to buy it.

Considering what I've seen, more people doesn't mean more creators so on the over/under of "more people = more stuff created" I'm taking the under all day.
