Make the game open on first try.

Post by AWood »

Make the game not get "mx.exe is not responding" every first time you open it. Sometimes even takes 3-4 tries to open the game.

It either crashes first open on a fresh restart/boot up or takes a long time to open. What would be the reason for that (I assume they're related)?

it does crash for me when I have my personal folder full, it must just time out whilst loading it. second time always loads, Id assume data is retained in the ram from the first try and then it beats the timeout on second try.

I've always set my shortcut to run the game in compatibility mode for Win7. I don't know if that would work for 8 or 10, or if you would have to select either one of those instead. Just a temporary fix, but I've never had the game crash on startup after turning compatibility mode on.

I have MXS on my SSD, nothing changed with the shortcut. 10/10 times it loads first try, didn't even know this was a thing.

Have it on my SSD, Also didn't know this was a thing. Sometimes I accidentally open it twice but that's just me being a spaz.

Wow... I thought I was alone in this. I never had a problem on win7 or 8. Then last year I switched to an iMac and ran the game in parallels on the same copy of Windows 8 from my pc. I started getting the error every first time after booting thru parallels. I just assumed it had something to do with the parallels setup... Now running Windows 10 thru boot camp I still have the same issue.

On SSD also, I do have a lot of skins. I can measure my folders tomorrow. But, had the same problem with windows 7 and 10 with game installed on 2 different SSDs. Always had this problem since maybe, 2014? Used to not have it

That is strange I've never had any issues with Mxs on Win 8, 8.1 or Win 10.
I have it on a 512Gb SSD Running Win 10 and 16Gb Ram.
49Gb Personal Folder, nothing in my install folder. I've Never had it crash or fail to open, it's always been nothing but stable for me.
