Separate high and low speed compression damping
Re: Separate high and low speed compression damping
Couldn't you just make it work as like the dab feature in speed ? Could work as a basic beta for feedback.

I like it too.760Liam wrote:What ever happened to this idea?
Hi
Re: Separate high and low speed compression damping
seems a bit more simpler rather than just compression dampening in the game right now.

Take your time heinsenberg. I love where this is going.
Re: Separate high and low speed compression damping
How about instead of waiting for actual data, just plop two more sliders that can be used to adjust the low/fast damping threshold speed? That's how it's done in Richard Burns rally.jlv wrote:I don't think I can find the time for a seminar but I'll buy the Suspension Bible. What I don't know is how many inches per second is considered low speed and how many inches/second is high speed. Based on the speeds covered by the dynos I've seen I guess low speed would be under 6 in/sec for the shock and under 10 in/sec for the fork. But that would be a pure guess on my part. I'm also not sure exactly how much the adjusters change it.
It would be cool to see how moving the adjusters changes the damping force curve on the dyno.
Also, as far as I know this stuff is all speed sensitive. The only position sensitive part is the bottom out cone in the fork.

Those who possess strength have also known adversity.
Re: Separate high and low speed compression damping
I'd probably just guesstimate the threshold to around 10 inches/sec in the fork and 5 in the shock if I wanted to wing it.

WING IT! :]
Or you could make the arragenent with Chex, and hopefully get some real info and values.
Either way, I could see this as a huge improvement.
Imagine going to the track and dialing in your suspension, then riding the replica on MXS and already knowing what suspension settings you need.
Ahhhhh..... it's already so close.

Bumppp! Still think the best approach would be to allow adjusting for the speed thresholds, especially since it is adjustable in real life.
