Rear Brake tapping when in airtime suggestion.
Re: Rear Brake tapping when in airtime suggestion.
Ahah...
Well JLV, I'd like to know, what do you think about the rear brake reaction when you tap it ingame? Would you say it's accurate as DJ said before? Would you make any changes to it further on? haha sorry for the interview I'm just interested
Regards,
Judge.

It seems about right to me. The only way to increase it would be to add mass to the wheel.

Make the rear wheel about 200lb so when you do a whip, you go into a crazy rotation.

I'm suspecting, that perhaps this suggestion box section of the forums is going to be a place reservered only for those with really thick skins.

I see, well I guess this topic is all set and done to be deleted, so go ahead!

Re: Rear Brake tapping when in airtime suggestion.
I don't know what the moment of inertia of the wheels are but it could be higher for the front given its larger diameter, even though it weighs less. This could have an effect on it too. But, I just tested it out by pulling the clutch in as I left a jump - this makes sure that the engine doesn't drag the rear wheel down in speed - and the effect of rear brake and front brake are about the same doing it this way. So if their moments of inertia are different, it isn't by a lot. JLV is right again.
As a side note, don't use the front of the bike or rear of the bike as your reference frame, use the non-rotating center of mass reference frame (looking from the side, it is around the carb area I think). This way the front goes down and rear goes up in both cases of grabbing the brake (front or rear brake), twice as hard when you grab both.
Another side note, the real downsides that I see with using the front brake to drop the front is the traction issue on landing and the fact that you can't use the torques of the front wheel to whip the bike to where you need it if you've already stopped the front wheel.

Re: Rear Brake tapping when in airtime suggestion.
Using both brakes makes sense if you're _really_ looped out. It's best to keep the front spinning for air control the rest of the time.
With that much inertia, you could barely turn, let alone whip!DJ wrote:Make the rear wheel about 200lb so when you do a whip, you go into a crazy rotation.

do you use clutch like on real bike when you tap rear breake? thanks

Nope, you dont need to.livefast259 wrote:do you use clutch like on real bike when you tap rear breake? thanks
Re: Rear Brake tapping when in airtime suggestion.
Not necesary since the engine doesn't turn off as it should, but since I like to play realistic I do if I can...
Re: Rear Brake tapping when in airtime suggestion.
It autoclutches under a certain rpm, so it still is 'realistic'. It is just as if it were automatic to your body to pull in the clutch when you are about to stall.
