I know you planned on making stuff that uses the shaders and friction, as well as fixing up the FBO code and adding rider shadows, but any ideas to what you may do after that? I can't think of anything you may do, other than ragdoll physics, or playing with sounds again
Id love to see:

Separate rider and bike (JLV I will buy you a copy of reflex if you want to test it out, PM me if your interested :D )
Bike shadows
Much better menus!!!! (optional 3d viewer for tracks and models (optional so people with slow computers don't die waiting to load the game))
New models, skins and tracks for the stock game (I think public contributions to the actual game, especially models would be a great idea :D )
Better terrain deformation, not so bumpy but other than that it is pretty good. Also the shadows updating so we can see the formed ruts
Auto update terrain map in editor when using photoshop.

And then some low key advertising for the game!!!!!

What are your ideas JLV?

Aside from what you mentioned, here's what I can think of:
- Better stabilization. I have a couple of ideas that I want to try.
- Stand alone track editor.
- Variable resolution in the height field so you can define fine detail without blowing tons of memory.
- Randomly generated terrain outside the field. Or possibly multiple height fields modifying a huge random terrain.
- Multithreaded ray tracing renderer if Larrabee becomes popular.

Wow, you have some exceptional things on your plate. All of these would be huge improvements to the game.

Pretty much. I'm thinking about using AS3+Adobe AIR for it, which is essentially Javascript with a GUI library. It should be a lot easier than using C, so it won't take as much time to add new features.

OK, I am looking forward to seeing how you go with them, they sound awesome. The outside terrain sounds good

I am a bit lost with the Multithreaded Ray Tracing, and what that would entail. Would that be used for realtime reflection rendering, or what?

Even if it succeeds, I wouldn't expect Larrabee to be mainstream for years. Larrabee is pretty much 32 Intel Atom CPUs on one die. It will let you run 32 threads of conventional x86 code simultaneously, which is getting close to what you would need to do real time ray tracing. If I made a ray tracing renderer it would completely replace the OpenGL renderer.

Any plans on a new menu layout? Or atleast allowing it to be modified?

Also how about that separate bike and gear setup application? :D

Sure, but DJ was asking what big projects could be done in the future.

Oh right, thanks :D
I thought that was pretty big but I guess not haha

So is that it for the physics pretty much?
