Hope you notice this post JLV,because it would make life easier. Not only on skinners, but on people that have to download huge files to get a set of gear with two different sets of gloves or boots.

yeah we dont need diferent boots model, with normal maps we can make it most of themhttp://mxsimulator.com/benchracing3/posting.php?mode=quote&f=1&p=106597#adhkcrfhonda wrote:then just use one boot model i guess? i dont think it would be problematic at all
I have Black/White gear with Red gloves.DJ wrote:Why would you want different glove skins?
So isnt it possible to jlv, make the rider model uses more then 1 texture? with that we wouldnt change the models and would solve our problemsDJ wrote:You cant use 1 boot model. People use different geometry for their legs, so the boots wont fit properly. And to just have different boot textures, the boots on each model will have to have the exact same uv mapping
Well.Lets just have one or two main models. Then the boot model could fit both of them. The two models I am thinking of are ofcourse, ddmx's and Showtime's.I don't think it would be that hard, but I don't know how things really work with video games.DJ wrote:You cant use 1 boot model. actualy dj it would be easy because both my model and ddmx's use the ddmx boots and i have tested it and they actually fit pretty darn closely so it would be pretty easy to do, and in my opinion needs to be done. I really think it would eliminate the whole thor black with white boots, thor black with red boots, thor black with grey boots and no leatte. I hope that makes sense. but making the same gear with four different colors of leatte and boots is crowding the skin selection. and until jlv makes a 3d view of bike and rider selection its a total mess. heck i dont even know if he plans to do that but the new gui layout with the 3d layout that carlsman made awhile back is honestly what jlv should work on next. it helps simplify and clean up a lot of the confusion when selecting certain items. I hope this doesnt offend anyone but a lot of people from the mva crew find it kind of funny that some of us that have made models and skins and stuff for this game do it for free, and then it helps jlv sale the game, yet none of us get to help with making the game progress in areas that really need it. now i appreciate the game that jlv has created and it is just that "a game" but man its not that hard to let people help so that we can get a feature like 3d model views in game. we have so many talented people and we dont want the game code or anything like that but whats the harm in allowing some like carlsman to design a nice gui system and then implament it, this way all of us get a nice looking gui, and im pretty sure you wouldnt have to pay for it since everyone does stuff for free. but just my two cents but if you look at what this community has done for this game i think it is time to throw a bone and allow us to help with some of the really important aspects.DJ wrote:You cant use 1 boot model. ExactlyTimFerry15 wrote:I see how the seperated boots from the rider wouldn't work, but wouldn't it be like fitting the bike model to the wheels? If both peices of the model (boot and rider) are always set in a certain place, the modelers would just have to make there boot model fit to the rider model, or their rider model fit to the boot model. Just have a set standard for the mouth of the boot or the thickness of the riders leg if you really need to.
