Yes, multiplayer still needs a lot of work. As far as the web site goes, you have to remember the snapshot releases are essentially alpha test versions. When you buy the game you get the 1.1 version. In hindsight I'd say I should have made the 1.2 update after the new rider code and left multiplayer for 1.3.

I ran across TrackIR for a different game(Arma/Arma2). Your the only one who mentioned this so I wanted to say I support your suggestion. I dont have the system, but watched the racing & fps videos on the website. It basically would solve a lot of requests for camera control thats for sure, but the realism it would bring would be, well unreal, and a first of its kind in an mx game!

EDIT: Just found what looks like a free/very low cost alternative to TrackIR... FreeTrack. It uses webcams & leds! Not sure how the GNU liscence works though. http://www.free-track.net/english/

My dual axis pedals are detected as single axis in the game. This would be great to have fixed.

I also hate the rider righting himself all the time. Sometimes I slow down enough in a corner that he'll just start to point the bike in a different direction, I hate that. Would be great if I had the option to turn that off and use a button instead. So when I tip over I don't always have to wait for the rider to decide what way to get up and turn.

I have the problem in most SX's - where I have to slow way down to make a corner, and I'm pressing left on the control pad, and everything is peachy, then the dumbass puts his foot down, jacks the handlebars all the way to the right, and the bike snowplows ahead in a straight line and I can't turn left, and I can't turn right (being in the middle of a bowl turn, a right would be straight uphill) so I have to plow my way offtrack then get the dude going again.

It's about the only thing about the game that still makes me want to throw the controller thru my monitor.

Turn off the dab when stopped from bike setup, then it won't straighten the bike automatically.

jlv, have you ever thought to have engine damage modelled in the game?
stamping down through the gears seems to have reached a new zenith (watch wmsa budds creek A class},using engine braking is a legitimate technique, but forcing the revs off the dial every few secs with the engine screaming that's just complete BS,that exploit needs killing off.
an engine blowout when you rev off the dial more than once in every 60secs should result in complete loss of power accompanied by a plume of smoke animation, race over! :D

I've thought about it, but what should it do? Blow up and just leave them there?

Are we then going to put in broken arms and legs? No fear seems to be exploited quite a lot.

sorry edited my post before i saw yours jlv

yep,so race over!

maybe 2-3k over 14k rev limit occurring more than once in every 60 sec period would trigger a blowup (just a suggestion,i know jackshi* about programming),doesn't need to be too stringent, don't wanna be glued to watching the rev counter,or introduce unexpected damage,thats no fun,but enough to eliminate only constant excessive use ( ie. you can hear easy when revs are way over the limit}

lol wheels, seriously to me if you gotta scream the nuts out of an engine to be competitive, thats a backward step for mx sim.

actually the no fear exploit results in crashes, and a big loss of time, and with multiplayer that kinda riding won't make you too popular if you're taking out other riders, when we get down to some organised racing online :D

i agree i'd love to see the engine blow up iff the revs get too high
i think that would be cool.. like if ur online once it blows up it just sends you to spectating mode

I know multiplayer is getting the attention now, but here are some track editor suggestions:

-Single click to update shadows (this is a major pain for photoshop users, as it takes at least 15 clicks to update the shadows now)

-Single click, "real time" disp map updating, if you are using a 3rd party program to create your disp map - ie I open the game, load my track, test it, decide to change something, ALT TAB to photoshop, make a change, save the file, ALT TAB back into game, hit a "update" button and my track changes to the updated disp, rather then having to exit the game and open it again

-(realtime) sliders for scale and ALT values so we don't have to edit the terrain.hf (again avoiding a series of opening and closings of the game)

Even an update button for this would be alright. Anything to not have to open and close the game a bunch of times.
