Footpeg Collisions

Post by Del »

Title says it all, really. I think it'd be cool to have to fight the peg snagging on especially deep ruts, because I don't think this is simulated at the moment.

Are you joking? That the main collision that catches on the inside of ruts and its annoying.

You really want to make riding a rut harder?

I could have sworn I saw that JLV posted a while back that the collisions are just stretched out spheres encompassing the rider and bike.

And no, I'm not. I've never actually experienced the inside snagging in a rut, although I do get the rider clipping bales on the 2013 rF nationals.

What i think would be better, is if we had way more accurate footpeg collisions, really close to the bike, then we could have realistic tiny ruts like fermo but deep also that you could get your wheels in. then i would like some footpeg dragging

I do plan on slimming down the bike's collision shape.

Will you change all collision shapes to cubes or keep them spheres?

When we re-did them I found the smaller spheres were actually worse, way more unpredictable when landing and turning at the same time. With the oversize spheres I feel like I can tell when I am getting crazy.

Mmm, that sucks, but I would love more accurate collisions, shame we can't have recrangles, would be super accurate.

Did you try something like this? Should only take a small change to make the difference you need.
