New Dynos and EFI tuning
So, i think it would be a nice idea to update the dynos because some of the bikes have gained power and most importantly the YZ250F has gotten fuel injection. Also the ability to fiddle with fuel injection would be a nice touch. Don't know if the fuel injection tuning would be hard to make or even impossible but it's just a suggestion. If precise tuning would be too hard maybe just add some basic maps like default, aggressive etc.

Honestly the last thing this game needs is faster bikes..we can already do some pretty crazy stuff in sx on the bikes we have

I don't think we need quicker bikes but maybe some more responsive power ratios on bottom end on the 250. I just think even with the quickest gearing that bottom end on the game is a bit sluggish. Maybe increase bottom end, average out mid, then flatten out mid-top end a bit.

Re: New Dynos and EFI tuning
I know, I hate using the yz250f dyno because of the bog. Stupid carb.yamaha#521 wrote:and most importantly the YZ250F has gotten fuel injection.
An adjustable power curve, like a give and take type thing (more acceleration, less top speed), might be cool. But I already cant keep up with all the different settings for this game.
I think its more of a gearing issue. But Im not positive. The bikes go way too fast in 1st gear it seems. Would love to see MPH in this game.Burkeen820 wrote:Honestly the last thing this game needs is faster bikes..we can already do some pretty crazy stuff in sx on the bikes we have

Re: New Dynos and EFI tuning
That's one thing I've noticed too. I'm making a track in scale 1:1 and I have a rmz250 07, comparing to the one in game with the same gearing, it's day and night. Even if I put the "lowest" possible gearing, it's still faster than my standard one on the bike.barrington314 wrote:I think its more of a gearing issue. But Im not positive. For the other EFI thing, I just say no. Better collision, erode online, graphic improvements, optimization, new updated dynos (maybe sx150?) are things I consider way more important. THB, I think "electric" tuning is kind of stupid in real life too. I'm a fan of having motocross not being a sport where you hook it up to a pc, rather that you have to do testing and change physical parts, but that's just me.

Yea, neither do i think this should be the number one thing to add but if it would be easy to make, why not add it along with these more important updates.Wahlamt wrote: Better collision, erode online, graphic improvements, optimization, new updated dynos (maybe sx150?) are things I consider way more important.

Re: New Dynos and EFI tuning
I agree on the gearing side. We can get way to much speed out of 1st gear. Even with short gearing I still hit pretty much every sx triple in first on this game compared to 3rd gear in real life on equivalent jumps.

Re: New Dynos and EFI tuning
These are all some super valid points last time i checked i case triples IRL in 2nd! Haha
I think this could be quite a cool opportunity to give the guys playing a more in depth feel as to how bike tuning works, we should get a default HP/Torque Output scale, for each bike and be able to go into it and change around the settings of fuel injection and what not, it would just add a more realistic aspect to the game, sure could be pretty difficult to set up, but it would be fairly fun to play around with.
The again server admins should be able to make the server so your bike HP/torque is either stock the way they are or you can run it so its unlocked to play in the server with adjusted bikes!

Re: New Dynos and EFI tuning
I used to lean on the side of "everyone would just use the best setting", until I got my '15 KX450f with the 3 ignition couplers. The couplers noticeably change the engine dynamics and allow me to adjust to power for the track. Its actually interesting that I feel faster and smoother most of the time using the mellow(black) coupler because it has a smoother low to mid range vs the standard(green) coupler. I feel like i can get on the power earlier in corners and the back end wont aggressively kick out. The white coupler is just way too aggressive for my skill level, but on a sandy or grippy track I could see its benefits.
How would we utilize this in MXS? I think before any ability to alter the power curve is added to the game, the traction needs to be tweaked a bit, or maybe we as a community just need to start utilizing different traction settings more often. In real life, every single track has different traction. Traction even changes on one track throughout the day. Once we figure that out, I think we would benefit from the ability to tweak power maps.

Ignition mapping would be pretty handy on the slick tracks. You could actually get on the power without sliding out.

Re: New Dynos and EFI tuning
The only thing that bugs me about the current dyno's is the fact that the 09 yz250f is so much more powerful than the majority of the rest. It and the ktm or clearly the 250's of choice in game for good reason too. I just wish the rest, especially the new models were the same or even close to the same as the yz.

It would be good! Also the trottle response is very slow when you twist the trottle. In reallife the motor responds immediately, maybe its the autoclutch but a test could be an idea?
