Tachometer

Post by yzmxer608 »

I don't really use the tach at all, just look to see what gear I'm in sometimes just to make sure. I know you said the dial is coded in, can it be made an option to turn the dial off? I'd be fine with creating whatever image then (using what you can already use).

I don't want to clutter the menus with it, but I could add a command line option.

Yeah I like this idea too, I can pretty much ride with hidden hud on but I like being able to see what lap Im on.

The Tach,Shifter, and Pitboard are all separate png's,I believe. So just make an all blank Tach and leave the pitboard and shifter.

You can do that, but the red dial would still be there, that's the part I want gone.

That sounds good jlv :).

Just to throw my opinion out there, I think that there should definitely be a menu for these things. I wouldn't be worried about having a cluttered menu when the alternative is having a cluttered screen or tons of links on your desktop. I personally never use the tach nor the map. I do use the gear shift indicator though (that is I bet coded into the tach). I think that you should be able to seperately toggle all of these things on and off easily and a menu would let you do that. I hate having 5 different icons for MXS on my desktop, one to film with, one to start it with a batch file that sets its priority high, one to turn fps on, editor, etc. It is really annoying to go in and edit the preferences but just clicking a bit in the menu is easy (especially if you could do it IN GAME and not have to restart).

Yeah, name it tach.png
The "shifter" is just the numbers that show you what gear you are in.
