Physics physics physics...

Post by Sib43 »

- When i lean back and brake over bumps, the dude always get sideways.
- When i go through whoops, the rider always get sideways
- When i overjump a jump just a lil bit, the feet always come off the bike
- when i case a jump a lil bit, the feet always come off the bike
- when i land a jump a lil bit sideways, the rider always crashes
- when i land on the rear wheel first, the feet mostly came off over big jumps

......
nothing happens in real life. I think its way too hard to go aggressive and have fun a whole race. Therefore many newbies stop playing this game after 1 hour!

sorry I'm pretty mad right now, but these things need some improvements imo!

You can change most of your falling issues with suspension and Advanced Stability stuff. The back wheel swapping in the whoops now is from the new flywheel physics and JLV is trying to work that out. I've never really had that problem in the braking bumps you're talking about. But I'm sure it can be fixed with suspension. Raising the Shock Rebound Damping should help you some. Try turning up your Landing Damping Falloff and Landing Damping Factor to help the falling off all the time.

I hope that isn't read in the wrong tone of voice, just trying to help you out! :D

Simple facts,

When riding in real life you have thousands of muscles that react to compensate for bike movements.

In MXS, we have a couple buttons and a stick. And a rider that has as much range of motion as a paraplegic.

I imagine part of the problem with leaning back while braking is that you are slightly pulling to one side or another.

I changed my controller setup to enable me to press a button to lean forward in the turns. If you have any way to incorporate another button into your configuration so that you can lean back independently of the joystick used for turning, that will probably help.

It does happen sometimes but not every time you hit the jump.. Probably suspension is the thing like Shadow said.

seriously, mess with you rider settings like rider damping and rider spring etc. it seriously helped me MORE than only adjusting my suspension. I started with stock settings, edited my rider setting FIRST and then after did my suspension and got a really great comfortable setup. It helped me out, give it try :)

I'm fully aware that the stabilizer has room for improvement.

On the game it can mostly be fixed by suspension. This is a game we are talking about. Not real life....

this is a motocross simulator, so its a pose to simulate motocross. and whit stock suspension irl we don't fall off that easily(is what he probably going for :? right?) anyways. if i where jlv i would not just have everything in the suspension settings just at the middle, i would make a good realistic suspension and when you download the game it has a good/better stock suspension. that's just how i would do it....

I reckon this problem might be associated with the rider leaning back too far. As you lean back, you are essentially extending a spring. Leaning all the way back will limit the amount of movement the rider has to absorb bumps. Try leaning back slightly, as this should lighten up the front wheel, but also allow for some arm movement which should help stability.

Of course, I could be pulling all of this out of my arse, and might not be true at all.

The stabilizer could do a better job of keeping things straight though. On the other hand, that will just let people go faster. No matter how good the stabilizer is you'll still have to push things to the limit to keep up with the fastest riders.

maybe then we have more room to go aggressive!

well, i think its not all about suspension when i compare to real life ridin!
