FPS Dropping

Post by Maleksi »

Hey. I got this problem with my new pc, when i play mxs. My fps is dropping from 120 to something like 30 all the time and it causes annoying lag spikes, so its pretty much unplayable.
My pc specs:

-AMD FX-6100 Six-Core Processor
-Kingston 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600MHz
-1000GB 7200rpm SATAII
-Gigabyte 970A-DS3
-NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 2GB

So shouldnt that run the game on full graphic setups?
My graphic setups in mxs are:

Ground Geometric Detail: 100.00
Ground texture levels:10.00
Ground texture resolution:1024x1024
Enable ground mipmaps:Yes
Compress textures:Yes
Terrain rendering method:Hardware/copy
Use shader programs: Yes
Model geometric detail: 100.00
Model texture detail: 10.00
Roost density: 1000.00
Enable lens flares: Yes
Enable reflections: Yes

So umm what should i do different to get steady fps?

Might be your anti-virus protection. I was having a similar issue, but when I would disable AVG it would stop. So, try disabling real-time protection or just the whole program while you're playing and see if that works.
