Controller lag (double shifting)

Post by Yamahaman95 »

I keep running into the issue of double shifting when i race with a lot of people or on a nice track with my settings high. it makes no sense to me how i could be getting lag when i sit at 125 the whole time. ill go to shift from third to second and ill go from 3rd to 1st gear in one button push. i use my rb and lb buttons for shifting on my wired xbox 360 controller. i could understand if i had a crappy computer but i have 2 980s (not in sli) with 3 screens ( one 980 is only hooked onto my main screen i play sim on and the other 980 controls the 2 side screens) and a 4790k. i have no idea how i would lag enough to mess with the controller but not my frames.

Yeah, maybe the issue isn't lag you should try recalibrating it like the above post said. If that doesn't work, try setting your shift to a different button, as sometimes the bumpers are a little tricky on the 360 controllers. here's my controller setup

Gas-RT
Front Brake-LT
Rear Brake-X
Upshift-Right stick up
Downsift-Right stick down
Lean Left-Left stick left
Lean Right-Left stick right
Lean Forward-Left stick forward
Lean Back-Left stick down
Dab-Click left stick (Knife button in Co)
Clutch-Y

By using the joystick for shifting (unless you have sticky joysticks) you can prevent it from getting and extra click when you let up on the button, please tell me if this helps.

ive been playing with this controller set up for 5 years and never had this problem, i also have a back up controller doing the same exact thing, i re-calibrated both with no help either.

It happens all of the time? I have had this happen to me but when I restarted my computer it fixed it self for some odd reason. That's really weird though.

i shut down my computer completely every night, and i still run into it when im playing with a lot of people or a high detail track, thats what leads me to think its a lag problem, but my computer can launch missiles, so i dont get how i'm lagging

Then at this point the only thing I could really suggest is redownloading/getting a different software to run your controller, sorry I couldn't be of any more help
