Strange Lag Problem

Today, as some of you know, I got a new PC. I can run F1 2011 perfectly on Max settings. But MX Sim, sometimes I'll get 15 ps for a couple seconds. No matter what my settings are at, I'll get from anywhere between 111 fps to 13 fps. What makes this so weird, is that I can run any other game and get 45+. (The high detail games.) Here are my specs:

Manufacturer: Hewlett-Packard
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.4GHz
Memory: 8192MB RAM
Hard Drive: 1.3 TB
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti

I have no idea what to do. Any help would be appreciated.

We have the same setup (my processor might be a version down), and this happens to me.

i had that problem before with one of my comps. all i had to do was to change my motherboard cuz it couldnt handle the processors power. and after that it ran all fine. talk to a computer company to be sure though.

It's usually a background program like Windows update starting up. Does it still happen if you raise the priority level of mx.exe in task manager?

Seems to have worked... I also updated my graphics drivers again. So either one of those had worked. (It's late if you can't tell
