Mxs problem.
Before I reformatted my pc, I could easily run max graphics with shaders on(256 ground res)with 125 fps. Now I can't even run all settings at 6 without shaders on without it lag spiking. It basically glitches every 5-10 seconds no matter what track i'm on. I can't understand how my computer can run this much worse that quickly. Any ideas why this is happening?

Does anyone have good Nvidia Control Pannel settings to try?

Try turning off automatic updates in Windows Update.
Are you running the same drivers you were before?

I just turned it off and there was no difference. Not sure if I would need to restart my pc for that. At first I didn't realize I had older drivers, but I updated to the newest ones and there was hardly a difference if any,

One thing I've also noticed, and I can't say this with certainty that its not just in my head, is that the game almost seems to "warm up" and the lag spikes lessen the longer I am playing on a track but the fps stays around 58.

Do you have V-Sync turned on? That will limit the frames to your monitor's refresh rate.Brina927 wrote:One thing I've also noticed, and I can't say this with certainty that its not just in my head, is that the game almost seems to "warm up" and the lag spikes lessen the longer I am playing on a track but the fps stays around 58.

Re: Mxs problem.
i have the same problem as you brina. with these random lagspikes. didnt have problems with it before idk which update it was but after formating my comp it was fine but short after that a new snapshot came out and then the spikes begun ^^ oh and with my specs i shouldnt have any problems with any lag what so ever. even people with a comp with less performance can run higher graphics then me:/ cant figure out why though

Do you still get the spikes when you aren't moving?

Re: Mxs problem.
If it happens when you aren't moving it's probably from another process. If it only happens when you move it could be happening when the terrain textures get updated.

Re: Mxs problem.
Sorry to butt in this topic, but JLV I have a question. So, mxs has always worked fine. One day, i decided to download fraps. Ever since then, my game will randomly crash for no reason. I usually can get 1-2 races in before it crashes. Also, if this has anything to do with it. It usually happens when the race is restarting and everyone is loading for the next race. My mouse will change to a loading sign or whatever and it will say my game crashed. Any idea what is going on there?
