having trouble with 450 skins

i cant get any skins to work on my 450 been running blank stock that jlv gives u, do i need a template? or rename something something else idk ive looked around and cant find really anything,or im just to dumb to know what to read. so can some one either explain it or just send me a link to the topic thanx
