Multiple instances of MX server?

Is it possible? Has anyone done it? doing some test and need to run multiple instances of the server on one machine.


Only JLV and Serious answers please.... no smartass comments or other crap.

I don't think it's possible, it gives me a programmer too lazy error whenever I try. What are you trying to do it for? JLV would be able to comment more on it though, that's just what my experience with it is.

Well im toying with the idea of running my own server for maniacs off of my own connection. On a Phenom Quad that im about to have free since im about to do my 3 year upgrade. My upload speed is almost a 6M connection so im pretty sure i can host a couple of servers off it. These will be Maniacs Public and Private team servers.... But id rather not have to build a second rig out of old parts just to have our teams private server.

Our event and series server will be purchased from a hosting company to ensure no lag or other issues such as my family watching/streaming Netflix on our PS3.

Multiple servers can't share the same port. Use --port 19801 for the second server.

I would have known that if whoever the guy was that programmed this wasn't so lazy! :P

well you cant have more than on instance of mxserver.exe running .... So if you rename it... to something like mxserver1.exe it works.... also running as a different user in windows works aswell... with the exe renamed. The port thing is a given to anyone that knows anything about PC configuration.
