Pc Lagging

Post by Ivan M. »

hey i was wondering if you guys could give me some input on how to fix my laptop. I have an Asus G50v with a Nvidia 9700m GT and recently i have started to hit huge lag online. Its been doing this since last night and i cant tell whats going on. Usually my Laptop would lock on 60 fps and it would not drop but now its getting hard for my Laptop to stay at 20 fps. I have already tried taking it apart and cleaning it out including the fan and things like that, i have also installed new graphics drivers for my laptop and also i have tried running a lot lower graphics settings but the lag seems to not be going away. I know its not my internet because i have tried several things with it to such as restarting the router and it does not lag on the internet at all. I appreciate any help.

Low FPS isn't an internet problem. If you really didn't change any software, you should look into whether or not everything is running cool enough. Install a temperature monitor and check the CPU and GPU temps. If something's running hot it could be a bad fan or badly seated heatsink. You might want to check the power saving settings too. Some laptops will switch to the slower integrated GPU to save power.

I was going to suggest driver updates.

You can install siwportable, it will show fan speeds, CPU, and drive temps for you to check out.
