Lately I've been noticing an increase in lag spikes, around 1 per 3 seconds. Where my FPS will go from around 50 down to 5. This is beginning to really annoy me because its not like normal lag it just skips .5second worth of frames which can leave me tossed off the track or in some bales. I took a few screenies of my CPU, memory etc whilst playing the game. As you can see they don't look to good, there all over the place.
There isn't really any? I wouldn't mind if it was general lag but its spikes and they are really unpredictable.
Don't include Chrome, its closed when I play.
Imo, CPU usage doesn't look that bad. Sounds more like GPU. Do you use any third party GPU monitoring software? Not Fraps, but something like MSI Afterburner? Also make sure you don't have a virus. I'm not saying you're an idiot, but it happens. Try and clean your PC up a little. Defrag, clean temp folders, fix reg errors, check temps, etc.

I did all this before doing the post, only found 1 virus in the 13 hour scan. Didn't make any difference though. I'll try running it windowed, I will also get back to you on the GPU thing.
Just a thought, but check if mxsim is using more vram than what your gpu has. That lag spiking sounds similar to mine when I was racing online with 30+ people and the texture memory usage went over my vram by a few tens of MB. Anytime the pc has to load textures into the gpu's memory during the race, it would lag like hell for a short duration.
Those who possess strength have also known adversity.
This might sound weird but I was running it in windowed mode to see if it was a program spiking the CPU and the weirdest thing happened..... It didn't give me any lag spikes.
Although this seems to be a good temporary fix, I will try to look into the GPU thing.
Ok so I looked at the GPU and it was running perfectly find, pretty consistent around 35% usage give or take 5%. My Memory still completely fine, no problems nice and smooth, MXS uses 200,000kb worth, which isn't much considering its 8gb of DDR3. BUT my CPU was every where, I couldnt find a specific program but I did notice when the spikes happened. As you can see towards the end of the CPU total meter it spiked which was when I got my spikes ingame.
On another note why is it that when I look at my GPU, RAM and partly CPU they arent really being used yet I'm only running 30fps?
If you have vsync on the time per frame will be a multiple of 1/60 seconds, so the FPS can only be 60, 30, 20, 15 etc. The rest of the time it will be waiting for the vsync.

Ohk? Will I get a vast range of fps its never a set number, always moving. Any idea on what to do? I have an ATI card, I increased the RAM uses (followed Shadows duct tape tut) so it uses how ever much it wants. So why can't I get 125fps? It seems as though the game has more resources to use but it won't.

You set your FPS in the properties of your game by using --lock-fps # Not sure if that's what your were asking, but hope it helps.
Nah, I was meaning why can't I get max fps, the game isn't utilizing the hardware in order to run faster. Its just using a small amount then giving me 50fps or 30fps if I'm on max settings or in a 30man race.
